I haven't heard anything about Lewis and whether he is still hanging out towards the bottom of the depth chart.

We seem to hear plenty about Awuzie and especially Jones getting praise from Richard.

Like Marinelli, he seems reluctant to stray from his prototypes.

I don't recall it being indicated he was at the bottom of the depth chart? When did the team indicate that?

Hard to tell this early in camp. Receivers usually have it easier with no pads and the first couple weeks of camp. But it'll turn around as we approach the first few pre season games. We'll see then how he does. He's too good to overlook though. Even if not outside, he's plenty tall enough to play slot, where Scandrick used to

I don't expect players to be handed the job, Lewis can force his way to the starting position by out performing others. Where guys start training camp and where they end up in terms of depth will work itself out.

We will find out soon enough what kris Richard is all about and if he is all that. I think his prototype bs is exactly that BS, U can with play or can't play and last year Lewis proved that he can start in this league.

Richard likes big corners for bump and run but he has been quoted as saying Lewis (5'10) is the "exception to the rule". I think he's our best corner and with the league the way it is now three corners are needed most plays.

I read something the other day on the mothership about some good plays he made on the ball.
bottom line...cream rises.
if he's good he'll make it...if he's not he won't.

Ill wait to meltdown on the board on this topic until we get into the regular season and Lewis is just a STs demon...

Kid has great corner instincts and is one of our best guys... If Richards is that hard on for his prototypes I will be very disappointed by a coach with no open mindedness for being flexible with the talent on hand

even if the guys Richards starts succeed? Don't get me wrong I like Lewis and liked what I saw from him. Coach Richard comes in with a mindset of what he wants out of the CB and it is the players job to show they can carry it out. If the 2 outside guys are Jones and Chido and they are making the plays then I don't see the problem.

I think I read yesterday that he was getting reps in the nickel package and looked good.

I'm fine with Jones and Chido at corner, but not using this guy would be a colossal waste.
And if he is the FT nickel, that is basically a starter. I just dont get why Anthony Brown is listed ahead of him. But then again, he has the coveted height and length that Richard prefers.

And thats fine because at the end of the day I root for the team to succeed and not individual success of players. But Lewis can play even if its the designated slot cover corner Lewis might not be a lambo but hes a very nice Vette sitting in the garage

I agree with you. Right now Richard is finding out what he has and while the pecking order looks 1 way today does not mean that is how it will look tomorrow. I like Lewis as well but like you I'm more about team than individuals. Frankly I like seeing guys out there competing for positions and if Lewis has the talent I think he has then he will work his way to a starting role.
