Guys:
Anybody heard any word on initial Off Season training? Is Owens here? Is he in shape?
What about injured offensive linemen? How are they shaping up? To me this is the key, without a good offensive line TO is not going to do much good.
I have been hoping for three years that BP's Off Season training would finally have an impact on the offensive line. Explosion off the ball, strength, reduction in injuries, weight control etc. So far, the results are mixed. Why???
My best guess: Age and attitude of existing guys, freak injuries, poor drafting, and constant changing of OL coaches. Examples: Johnson: injuries probably hampered strength training; Riveria (Sp?): back injury; Petterman: injury plus possible poor draft choice; Rogers: poor draft choice; etc.
It just seems we are snake bit when it comes to the offensive line. Bottom line: We will never be a truly competitive team until the offensive line is at least decent.
