You could play with it, especially as a lineman. I believe Tyron had an LCL sprain last season or the season before. He’d be good for week 1.

You may be able to play on a Grade I or even II. The knee must be stable and the player needs to be able to tolerate the pain. Not a good place to use something to numb the ligament.

Me too. I saw where the Raiders sat ALL their starters for all of their game today.

Then you have a faux tough guy like Risen saying we should play starters *more* in the pre-season
I think the Raiders open the season against the Rams but still the Cowboys playing these guys a little long on offense considering how much Dallas had the ball in the first quarter.

I think Martin going to be just fine! he took a shot to the knee but the fact that he didnt stay down and limped off the field is a good sign. I guarantee he went in the locker room and the put him on table and the do a test called a pivot shift test to see if they ACL is torn and the fact Jerry came out publicly and said he is going to be fine tells me he was standing there when they did that test.

Not that I trust Jerry or the media but has there been even one report that he suffered a major injury? I haven’t seen one.

Some noise about hyper extension..didnt look bad, but whoever said was kind of a cheap shot, right on...When you cut a big guy like that he usually falls on you..So not sure what his motivation was..Maybe he was scared Martin about to double pancake him..Either way was chicken S--t!!

ESPN Reported that source claimed was hyperextended. Martin gave a thumbs up out of the Injury tent..I dont know if thats a solid..MRIS ON him and Woods tom..

glad someone mentioned cheap shots. Was it me or did Cincy look like they were going low all night? I saw a ton of helmets on knees. Seems like they were coached to do that. We are lucky Zach will be ok. Could have been catastrophic. It shows me we need to go get a vet olineman asap. Our depth is trash. But anyway..can we all agree its time to go see about EARL THOMAS? Woods is hurt...so a thin position just got even weaker.

so you play a 1000 snaps in the regular season and you worry about 10 snaps in the preseason.

Nice try at trying to derail the thread but it won't work.

I was getting worried right before Martin got hurt, but just paranoia on my part..The truth is the defense was balling first two or three posessions and the coaches getting them that work early..Damned if do or dont..

INJURY TO woods didnt look too bad, But nothing to say it isnt..Still id look, not necc at earl, and would have anyway...Maybe this will motivate a expidiated sign...

Only worry is that the hyperextension didn't result in a bit of a small meniscus tear which would be harder to see on any visual tests.

I don't get why chop-blocking is bad yet it's okay for a defender to go for an OL's knee. Makes no sense.

A small meniscus tear is also a 2-4 week recovery period. I had mine done in high school and was back on the field 3 weeks later.

But alas, we won’t know anything for sure until the MRI results come back.

Honestly, looking at the video, I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being an LCL sprain. It looked like more of a varus stress but it’s pretty hard to tell from the one angle.

LCL is a good call. Thought maybe ACL due to hypertension but I'd be more surprised if he took a soft tissue injury. Fingers crossed.

Hamstring are always tricky.

During the recovery process it always feels good until all the sudden it doesn't.
