Kind of cool and kinda creepy all at once. It can go down any street in America and get a 360 view of everything. I can go view the house I grew up in Louisiana and see how the entire neighborhood has changed. I just viewed teh ball parks I used to play in as a child. The pictures are within the past couple of years with incredible detail. But, it is kind of creepy to know that Big Brother has this technology to see everything up close and personal. And if they let us know what they do know, What do they know that we don't know.

click on the link @ http://maps.google.com/ there is a little man icon that you can drag and drop anywhere on the map. From there you can zoom in or out to go to what you want to view. There has been some controversy with it. Some people have found a car in their driveway that did not belong alerting them to some hanky panky. Others have solved a robbery at a business or residence by this.

I am amazed at how they were able to do the most rural areas in the country and still have great pictures.

Yeah, it is kind of creepy. I've used it though to check out homes for sale.

I used it when I went to Phoenix to find my motel and the site I'd be working at.

I was messing around with this today. It was really weird seeing both the homes I grew up in as well as my Dad's truck in front of his business.

Yeah it sucks that anyone who knows my address can see my ugly house. :laugh2:

I just saw my house. I'm trying to figure out which day the pic was taken.

Looks my hedges need trimming and I've got some crud in the drive way.

Also my need for a major paint job tends to stand out.

Depending on the city and state, some of the pictures are over 4 years old.

Mine could've been taken as recently as this summer. I've got a bad habit of letting the occasional newspaper sit in my driveway.

I don't subscribe to the newspaper and I never get out of my car to pick up the paper when I do see it. Lazy? Yes. Eventually, it gets all wet and nasty looking and I have to scoop it up with a broom.

I've used it quite a bit. I love google earth and the street level stuff too.

I like to find famous houses and look at them from the street view. Go look at the Amityville Horror house and see how different it looks in real life. Weird.

Wow. It won't go into the development I live in, but I am able to see the house I grew up in, my In-Laws house (with, ironically, my car parked in front) and their Pizzeria.

Kind of creepy. It's like being watched...

as a real estate appraiser, this thing just made my job a lot easier. Sometimes I come in and forgot to take a picture of a house. Now I can use this site and take a pretty good shot. Saves on gas. Now If I can just get somebody to do all my job so I can play on here more. :)

Another big-brother kind of site is Zillow.com... you can use it to check out your home's value and the value of all your neighbors, friends, pretty much any house in the country.

I have used that, microsoft virtual earth and the terra...something forgot the name of it.

Ironically I was just showing a friend of mine my house and neighborhood on there.

You can see some interesting shots of the new cowboys stadium and the surrounding area if you are from out of town.

I have used these sites for a couple of years now looking at locations where movies and tv shows were filmed. I really enjoy going up and down manhattan beach and looking at the shots, malibu and around the movie studios.....

pretty fun.
