Anybody else dissapointed in Sam Willams?

I was disappointed and gave up on him 2 years ago. If he makes the 53 we will see if he does anything to make it worth resigning him.

Definitely, frankly, I'd try to see if there's any way we can trade him for someone else's depth piece to an area that we might need. Like maybe an extra olineman or linebacker.

He has played a ton of preseason, game snaps and very few impact plays. Anybody else dissapointed?
He practically took off the 2nd half in the Cardinals game.....I can't even imagine being a player and putting that kind of game tape out there...and being Ok with it.

Definite under achiever.
His full career body of work definitely does not match the so called potential coming out of Ole Miss in the 2nd round. And the mental gaffes over the years have only added to my negative opinion of him.
BUT just maybe he can finally master his one trick pony speed rush and have an impactful season.
I have my doubts, but fingers crossed regardless.
This is my disappointment. He seems to just charge forward into the OT instead of using the quickness and speed he has/had to shed the blocker. This is what leads me to believe he no longer has that speed and quickness.

He's a disappointment because in his first two seasons, while they were by no means "good" he did flash a few times and he's just never really come close to what a lot of thought he could potentially be as a player.

I was most hopeful about him going into 2024 but then he had the injury. Since then, unsurprisingly, it's just been bad, mostly.
Agree with this.

The knee injury really was a momentum killer and you never know how guys physically respond to that sort of thing, let alone continue any development.

It's pretty impossible to argue against the physical upside he flashed.

Some guys don’t recover from injuries. He’s boneheaded and probably didn’t rehab good.

Yeah. They guy we signed for a couple mil because he had no offers is worth a competent player.

I'm not saying necessarily a competent player. I just mean like him for a depth piece that a team was going to cut but might be worth kicking the tires on.

Only people with eyes

Kid will make one good play and 3 bonehead plays to make up for it.

I agree. Unfortunately, he's just not good enough and, fortunately, we actually have enough talent to where he doesn't justify a spot anymore imo.
I mean I agree as well if Parker agrees Parker should be allowed to keep purging the last 3 DCS that we've had here There's still some crumbs left we're finally getting rid of most of them it'd be nice to do a full reboot after next offseason with Parker having a team of all his guys... It is a good time to do that I mean this is what happened when Parcells got here and tried to switch everything to the 34 it was a big purge and it took a minute to get it right..

I mean with Liafu hurt and get rid of Williams there isn't many left except the ones that were worth keeping you know QW ,Clark ,maybe bland etc Some of the obvious ones but I I'm thinking purge the ones that just were hangers on and just,

chopping block..

I think the Cowboys are just hoping some team will give them a 7th round pick for him. Maybe a coaching staff will see his preseason sacks and think they can do something with him.

Exactly, and it's amazing the talent turnover on that side of the ball, to the level of talent increase that we have seen. Still plenty of work to do, but it's impressive so far imo.

I've been very disappointed in Sam Williams but he had a good second half last night. I will say this, He cannot play outside LB. He has no idea what he is doing at that position. He is a DE and at that position he is a decent enough player.
