all you who attended the game...did ya'll see
Newman running routes and catching passes
with the offense while the team was warming up?
he did that the whole time the secondary was
doing its drills...i waited the whole game to see
if he was gonna sneak in on the offense.

He does that from time to time.

He is always out there with the wr and tight ends catching balls early.

what would be the purpose of the cowboys/newman doing this?

is it just to give the opposing coachign staff something to think about?

warming up the hands that rarely get ints....unfortunatly :(

warm up for int's ... but i would love to see him in WR action once in a while.

would add the much needed speed guy we need maybe...

He also did it when I went to see the Boys and Cards last season. Wasn't there an article that said he might play a little bit of offense this season?

They must have a play that includes him but perhaps not - it's still a god way for him to warm-up.

I would cringe seeing him on offense. To much a risk with the lack of depth @ DB. Plus with the foot injury, he may not be at full speed.

If that's the case, then why not get J-Reeves in there at WR? He is supposed to be faster than T-New.

Newman played some offense in college, which is probably why it is speculated that he would play here.

Didn't he run a few plays on offense last year too?

His speed could certainly help open up the offense if used right.

Good point! Not sure if Reeves has any offensive experience....

I saw him doing that last year before a game, too. He's probably just doing it so he can be ready just in case the coach would ever let him in there. Which I think Wade would be more open to than Parcells was.

I'd love to sneak him in for a play or three at WR. If nothing else, put a little scare in their corners and defensive coordinator. :) Especially with Glenn out, it would give us a little speed that we lack right now.

Of course, his foot would have to be better, but it does seem to be improving.

Oh, and by the way... Reeves is fast, but he isn't faster than Newman. ;)

fwiw Newman told laufenberg while in San Antonio that he planned to play offense, defense and special teams this year, that was before the injury though.
