Anybody else think there is a chance Marty B gets moved draft day?

Dont get me wrong I think the guy has big time talent but he is the most tradeable piece Dallas has. 1) I think Jerry could get a first rounder for the guy. 2) It is not a good year for TE's in the draft. 3) The draft is loaded at the top with LT types particularly in the first round, and its obvious to all False start is near the end 4) The scouting staff loves James Casey from Rice and moving Marty B creates a need at 69. I am not saying I think this happens, merely speculating.

Why? Proven TEs don't fetch a first round choice. What makes Bennett worth more? Potential? The fact he can make ignorant YouTube videos?

2) It is not a good year for TE's in the draft.

It is an excellent TE draft.

If I wanted one, I could get my pick of at least six quality TEs in the first three rounds: Pettigrew, Cook in the first two rounds, Beckum, Coffman, Casey, Nelson and Ingram after.

I don't because I think Bennett is going to be a key part of the offense this year. We need a good No. 2 tight end right now much more than a future starting LT (not that we don't need one of those, too).

If there was a possibility Adams was not going to play this season, and Dallas felt Free wasn't up to being his replacement, then I could see something like that happening (although I think we'd be more apt to trade an RB than a TE since we have a surplus there).

I think we add a tackle at some point in the draft to compete with McQuistan for a roster spot, but we give it another year on deciding if we've already got Adams' replacement on the roster.

Bennett is going to play out his rookie contract with the Dallas Cowboys as long as he doesn't go to jail. In that regards he has more a big mouth than a law breaking mentality

Nobody's going to trade for Martellus Bennett when they can just draft Brandon Pettigrew.

/thread.

Marty B has already shown he can play in this league and IMO has higher ceiling than Pettigrew.

Everyones most hated pick in last years draft and nobody wants to trade him? lol

Our offensive tackles need all the help they can get and Bennett is suprisingly a really good blocker.

We need 2 really good TE's. He is such a key piece.

And you wonder about trading a player we already know in order to draft someone we don't?

Go with what you know unless you don't like it.

My God, why? We have TE depth, two players that can be used as weapons, stretching the D to account for them, and you want to trade him for a possible LT that may make us yearn for the days of Solomon Page???

I think this young guy can dominate, and he can block. Dallas needs to get him the ball. Witten and Bennett could really put teams in a bind together, imo.

I think it is a possibility.... after this season because I think, and hope, that he is going to really show us something this year.

This is the same fans that hated Fasano but wanted him back after he started producing in Miami

So does this really surprise you? :laugh2:
