I couldn't care less if Tebow is a Christian or an atheist. I couldn't care less if he is the perfect role model or not. That has nothing to do with it at all.

Had he been a Cowboy, yeah, I'd have supported him. But he's not. So I'm not.

But the more I hear from the guy.....his values, his passion for the game, his passion for God, and his work ethic...the more I really root for the guy.

We don't have enough athletes....roll models in general....like him.

How can you not root for a guy that doesn't have a passion for the game and a work ethic that is second to none. I think he will turn out to be a good pro but who knows. I just cannot understand why so many people are down on him and is hated on so much. Micheal Vick and Pac-Man aren't hated on even this much.

He looks like a good QB and watching some highlights of his throws - Yeah he has an awkward delivery, but he puts some good zip on the ball - Nice spiral, and in a place where the receiver can catch it. I think he looks pretty impressive so far, all things considered.

That is a pretty big difference.

I do agree much like Vick I have my doubts about Tebow developing into a top QB. I think it is a big hurdle to go from the style of play both players showed in college to what is expected from a QB at the pro level.

Not really. Vick probably has, or had, the better arm. Tebow is obviously the better leader and teammate, and most likely has a much better football IQ and mental grasp on the game.

Vick is a shifty, speedy guy. Tebow isn't neccessarily a "running quarterback" as we usually think of one. He is just a big dude that bowls over people when he runs.

Do I think Tebow is going to be a great quarterback? Not really. He'll probably be average-good. Am I tired of the hype? Yes. But do I want him to succeed? Very much so. I'd like to see him do well.

The NFL needs more players like him and less Michael Vicks. That's why he is so popular.

I would say a large percentage of the "hate" for players is based on the media generated hype we see as undeserved, and many people know this, but unfortunately we will never see Tim Cowlishaw or Chris Berman get de-cleated so we have to root for their pet cats to get punished instead. Misplaced anger, no doubt, but somebody has to pay! :

Meanwhile, I have to say that Tebow has grown on me. Didn't care for the NCAA media love-fest and I think he lacks the talent to be a good NFL QB, but you gotta love the desire and toughness.
