One of the biggest plays in the game occured in the second quarter when Felix Jones runs a wheel route down the sidelines..is wide open..perfectly thrown ball and never turns around to look for the pass until it goes right by him into the ground..?

This was a huge 7pt play that the guy never made an effort on. And he had to be in the game specifically to run this play as a primary receiver for.

That was just an awful play. This guy has just become a zero for this team over the last year. I realize he returned a kick for a nice gain, too. But really, is this what we drafted him for..? Thank goodness for #29.

Another first round bust draft pick for the Cowboys.

Incredible.

He just wasn't looking or lost the ball. Just a mistake.

It ws weird, though, because he moved to the left before the snap in order to run the wheel on that side.

Felix is better than that. I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt here.

I do he sucks should have drafted mendenhall

Felix doesn't suck. He turned his head at the exact wrong time and the ball was never in his sight, he did not know the ball was thrown to him.

Felix Jones is a 1000 yard back on any other team, just not this one.

Felix (6 for 36) did almost outgain Murray (12 for 38) today on half as many carries.

Plus he had the big KOR to set the offense up with excellent field position.

Hate all you want but the kid is a great player and a great teammate.

It's amazing the amount of hate Felix gets around here. He became the new whipping boy while he was out injured I guess. He did well today with his carries. I'd like to see him get a chance with our true FB. I really believe he would average over 6 yards a carry. I'm still not completely sold on Murray. Past three games without Flame he's been averaging 2.9 (on 25 carries), 4.0 (on 22 carries, he just got up to 4.0 with that long run he had), and today 3.2 on 12 carries. I think a game plan like today is ideal, sharing the carries, of course more like 17-19 carries a game for Murray and 12-15 for Felix.

Good thread, though I don't agree with your conclusion re: Jones. I think his route became hot, and he didn't realize just how hot it got for Tony and didn't look for the ball quickly enough on that play. It was a big missed opportunity, for sure.

Yeah, but why not? These types of plays drive me nuts. Exactly how long does Felix think Romo has back there? Romo has to deal with the opposing rush, lay up a perfect ball and all Felix has to do is look up and he can't even get that right.

Felix didn't get his head turned around in time. He messed up --- would have been a score. Other than that, he played well... I thought he was our most effective back today

Looking better on returns too.

No hate warranted.

Yes, there is. Same kind of bull**** play that Crayton made at the end of that playoff game in '07. Runs all the way to the end zone, but forgets to, you know, actually look for the ball. Neither player got their head turned around in time because they were utterly clueless.

I honestly think that comes from lack of playing time. He just isn't in the flow of game anymore and he is type of player who needs to play to be effective. Some guys just aren't good at coming in cold. I think Felix has regressed dramatically since Murray has taken over. This is why Dallas needs to move Felix in offseason and let him go to team where he can split carries. Dallas can draft a change of pace backup to Murray.

It's a rule. You have to hate everybody after a loss.:laugh2:

If you run that route and are wide open, you would think the player might expect the ball to come his way. But that's just me.

We get it. You have hate bubbling from your ears for Felix Jones. Enjoy it. Fact is, this game he was much better than last week which was his return after several weeks injured. He looked faster and more effective because he WAS more effective. He is a solid player and an asset.

For most of us, we know what happened and we give it the weight it is due. And it is far less deserving of your response than so many other aspects of this game. This loss was a culmination of many, many things. MANY of which can be laid at just one door step- and here is your clue- it isn't Felix.

Your insistence in making it more than it is, and characterizing Jones as you have here- is quite revealing.

I'd like to see the replay again, I remember it as he had turned soon enough to be able to pick up the ball coming..........but it was like he had glare on his plastic visor or something hindered his ability to pick the ball coming out of the background of the stadium..........

.......he didnt even react with his hands or arms in any way

The ball was in the air when he was still in the middle of his wheel route. He was looking back at the QB while the ball was already in the air.

Tough play.
