If you do not want to go to the link just to find out what the thread was about, it was about being concerned with how well Payton and Gibbs knew our personnel. Some folks who did post might want to revisit and revise their posts of how little they thought it would be a factor in the game.

What is your point. If you can read you would read that it has been discussed 100 times since the game Sunday. Does someone need a hug today???

I feel the same way now as I did then. Coaches coach and player play. Payton is a very fine coach and while he drew up a great game plan his players still had to go out and execute that plan and that is what they did. You can put together the greatest plan but it takes player to go out and do the job or else it will fail.

To be honest there was alot of arrogance and "counting chickens before they hatch" going on on this board during the week leading up to the game.

But nobody saw 42-17 coming.

We all better be thankful Sean did not go to a Division rival. It reminded me of when Norv went to Washington, and then no matter how much better of a team we had on paper the Rednecks always seemed to have our number. Similar to the situation here, Norv like Sean was more of an X's and O's guy from the Offensive side of the ball, and (in no way am I comparing coaching status between these two) but Barry and Bill are both more on the motivational/psychology side of the coaching tree.

Agreed. I also wouldn't minimize the importance of Peyon knowing us in and out.

To be honest, we aren't the first team to face an old coach or coordinator. Didn't we face Jimmy Johnson in Miami? He practically built the team he faced and couldn't beat us.

Coaches get recycled in this league ten times over so there is always going to be someone who "knows" our system or weakness. When you want to find a teams weakness, go watch films of their last 3 ballgames.

Karney had a career day against us, but what is he going to do next week? That was a good play design on Bush's screen, but I saw a lot of missed tackles on that play. Bree's did what he has been doing all season long.

I am a big believer on execution. Payton can game plan all he wants if the Saints don't execute his game plan, nothing will work.

Los coches de los Santos no le hacieron mal al los Vaqueros.
Nuestro team jugadon come locos and tontos.
La problema es los nuestros coches de los Vaqueros, y no el coche primero de los Santos.

Yeah, they knew the personal and that was a factor but so much of it was the inability to cover guys out in the flat and to even know man-to-man coverage responsibilities.

The execution of the defensive plan-- especially by the linebackers was horrid.

It doesn't really matter now. Let's move on to the next game instead of the I told you so routine. What does that gain any of us being Dallas Cowboys fans by pointing fingers at each other of what their opinions were at that time.

The thing that get's me (and I've vented about it quite often on this site) is how other coaches can seem to get so much more out of (our former) players than our coaches. I really wonder if our "talent" is really talented, or they just don't respect BP and are underperforming.

I know Roy Williams can't cover and taking him instead of Ed Reed was a mistake, but that is hindsite. I've become convinced we just don't have good coaches. BP is too old and has too much heart trouble to be effective anymore...

95+% of what the saints ran against us they've been running all year.\

I've seen those dump off to the RBs in highlights all year long, why we had nothing for it is inexcusable.:bang2:

If you were not one of the folks who shot their mouth off in the original post about what a preposterous theory it was you really do not need to get your panties in a wad. ;)
