Hell yes. MMA is right there with college basketball as my second favorite sport.

What a crazy year so far, eh? Couture and Serra pulling off two of the biggest upsets in UFC history. UFC buying out Pride. UFC's HW division all of a sudden looking very formidable. This Sokoujdo(sp?) with two big upsets in Pride. Henderson holding two belts in two different weight classes in Pride. What a year for Team Quest so far. Lindland over Fedor would just be amazing, but definitely unlikely.

Just a few matches I can't wait to see this year...

Couture v. Cro Cop - If Couture can pull this off, hands down would be the biggest upset in MMA history.

Hughes v. GSP III - I can't wait for GSP to beat the **** out of Hughes again. Wipe that smirk off of his face from Sat. night.

Rampage v. Chuck II - Don't really have a preference in this one. Would like to see Chuck continue on with his domination, but I wouldn't mind if Rampage wins.

Some unlikely scenarios I'd like to see as well...If Chuck gets by Rampage, I'd love to see a Chuck v. Shogun, finally end the best LHW debate. I wouldn't mind seeing Tito v. Wandy II - both fighters a lot more mature than when they first faced off. If Couture could possibly get by Cro Cop, how awesome would a Couture v. Fedor fight be? Cro Cop v. Fedor II would also be an amazing fight.

No kidding, man. The sport is absolutely exploding.

The Couture and Serra wins both definitely blew my mind. I was rooting so damn hard for Randy, and to see him pull that win out was just amazing. I can't stand that lumbering ******* Tim Sylvia, and there are few things better than seeing a 43 year old man just absolutely abuse him.

But to see GSP go down to Serra like that...man, I could not have been more disappointed. I went out with a bunch of my friends who are relatively new to the sport to watch UFC 69, and I was talking up GSP the whole time. I really thought (and still do, though my confidence has been shaken) that GSP was the next big thing in MMA. I just couldn't see anyone giving him much of a test at 170. To see Serra take him out...KOing him, no less, was the most shocking thing I have seen in MMA, no doubt. Fortunately, my buddies didn't make me stick to my statement that "If Serra wins this fight, I will literally run around the bar naked. It promise he doesn't have a shot."

Anyways, though, this certainly looks like it will be the best year of MMA yet. Sokoudjou will be awesome to follow. I wouldn't mind seeing him go toe-to-toe with Shogun. Randy-CroCop will be awesome...if Randy can manage to not get his head kicked off. Big Nog now in the UFC. All the possibilities with UFC buying Pride. A potential CroCop-Fedor rematch late this year. Phew...I could go on and on.

I love this sport.

I just saw that the NSAC ruled Diaz's win over Gomi a NC because Diaz was apparently high as hell from the Mary Jane. I knew that he had tested positive after the fight, but not at the levels that the NSAC says. He must have toked up almost right before the fight. Anyways, the fact that the NSAC claims that him being that high HELPED him in the fight is beyond me. What a joke.
