Anyone buy 300 today?

What? Burm, where you expecting a movie to display nothing but facts?

Its a movie. Its not claiming to be a documentary. Its claiming to be a movie. Its for entertainment purposes.

Only you would complain about such stupidity.

:stupid:

If I want a documentary, I'll look elsewhere.

This was a fantastic movie. Unlike many that are created from unreal events and tried to create their own reality, this takes a real event (which is far too complex to make into one movie BTW) and creates a mythilogical story behind it. It's creativity is fantastic. It's special effects are outstanding and its lanscapes are unequaled. One of the most visually stimulating movies ever made.

...and for those whom wanted more character development, your not going to find it in a movie portraying spartan values. At least not in a movie less than four hours.

if i woudl buy it id buy it on blu ray.

to bad i hated the movie, even though i love history etc.

nobody really knows what happened. this stuff happened over 2,000 years ago and i'm supposed to believe these so called "experts"................riiiiight

That's actually a good point. The so-called "facts" here have been based off of the writings of people whom lived years, often hundreds of years, after this event happened. It's not like Herodotus was actually sitting in the press box making a play by play here. Most of the "facts" are long gone...now we can enjoy a good story. Unless, of course, you're anal.

Yeah, but Xerxes really had a beard, and they didn't show that in the movie... so, you know, it sucked. ;)

My thoughts on this particular movie have already gotten me in trouble around these parts. Safe to say I didn't buy it.

The more important question is, did anyone buy Hot Fuzz today? I did. THAT is a great movie.

Oh, and Live Free or Die Hard is infinitely better than 300.

I bought BOTH... And threw in Shaun of the Dead for good measure. That was a long overdue purchase.

I think we got into this topic last time, so I'll spare everyone the recap, but did you really think Hot Fuzz was that good? I watched it at a buddy's house after a few cold ones, and was relatively dissapointed. I'm a huge Shaun of the Dead fan, and thought it didnt' measure up...maybe I need to rewatch it.

Yeah, I'm wondering what Esther thought about all of those chains and earrings.

Understatement of the thread award. Great flick!

And if you haven't seen Hot Fuzz yet, what are you waiting for?

Hot Fuzz, much like Shaun of the Dead is vastly overrated. Both have their moments, but in between is lots of nothing worthwhile.

Live Free is a joke and doesn't deserve to be associated with the Die Hard franchise. A cheap generic action film that owes it's complete success to it's title and nothing more.

I did. Picked it up at Blockbuster. Then I got home, and found out Circuit City had it on sale for 13.99! Bad luck I guess. I just watched it for the 4th time and it was awesome, one of the best I've ever seen. I'd reccomend anyone going to buy it.

What are you doing buying a movie from Blockbuster with their insanely inflated prices? That's just crazy. Movies are always on sale the first week they come out. Just check the ads.

Hot Fuzz was almost as dumb as the 300.

hot fuzz i though was going to be funny, boy was i wrong.

Got it on blu ray today, can't wait to watch it again. very fun popcorn flick.

I didn't like it as much as SotD, but I definitely thought it was a very good movie. I would give it another shot.

We were watching Hot Fuzz two nights ago and half way through, my wife lost interest, I thought it was funny but we decided to watch another movie so we ended up watching "Pathfinder".

I loved Shaun as well and was buying all the hype for Hot Fuzz. I was somewhat disappointed in it.
