Anyone else concerned with Ware and his neck issues?

In general, yes. Because of him being held out of the OTAs, no.

It looks like they're holding out some vets (Ware, Ratliff, Sensabaugh) with minor injury issues. I suspect it's either to spare them some wear-and-tear or to get some experience elsewhere to start evaluating and figuring out how to work with new players. Sensabaugh's knee injury, for example. Those aren't the types of problems you just rest for a few days, unless it's a bruise, or an excuse.

He's getting to the age where it may become a bigger factor, but the dude has yet to miss a single game.

That's the bigger issue. We're going to have to add a quality pass rusher very early in next year's draft.

It's definitely a concern I'm holding my breath hoping we don't log on in the next few weeks and hear he's out for the season having to undergo neck surgery. I'm sure that's crossed everyones mind let's pray it doesn't happen.

He says he is used to it now.It scares me cause it never goes away.

No, it doesn't. And neck injuries are what shortened Daryl Johnston's career too.

I hope he is thinking more about his health and family than playing for the Cowboys. I cringe every time I see him tackle low or dive.

for those who somehow thing its as simple as just drafting DeWares replacement, think on this.

The only quick replacement at the same position the Boys have ever had as regards One HOF player stepping in for another within the space of a year or so was going from Lilly to Manster. It has not happened other then that.

I agree family should come first but if that's going to affect his play then that's not good either.

And even that wasn't necessarily a speedy replacement since Randy White wasted his first two seasons playing linebacker. It wasn't until 1977 when White was moved to defensive tackle that we "replaced" Bob Lilly.

Trying to get someone to replace his talent the odds are way against that happening. Then you factor in his personality and toughness. The guy has played the last 7 years and has played every game. If our defense had this kind of upgrade in 2005 imagine ware having that extra 1/2 of a second, he would have the Sack record easy!

There are more qualified people allowing him to go so I am not worried
I bet if there was something really bad going on his wife would pull him from the field
She reminds me of someone that would rather be healthy broke and homeless than be cripple and rich

I am.

It doesnt seem like it will go away. Hes just going to have to manage to get through with it.

I hope it doesnt end up cutting his career short.

Thats where i am going to disagree with you. There is nobody better than ware in the nfl at what he does.

I like that point. You already know you're basically going to get 20 sacks with Ware -- might as well let the backups get the reps, and spare the possibility of it being a nagging injury throughout the season.

It's only OTAs -- sit him out and let the other guys get the reps. No need to "play through it" in June.

What does that even have to do with what he said?

Yeah, I'm not spinning there, either. It seems like they're making up reasons to sit some of the vets. Maybe they're all legitimate, but I think it's more likely that they're using any scratch as an excuse to get some film on a younger player during OTAs in preparation for TC.
