Anyone else dissapointed in the guy?

I dont feel like hes even brought up enough. I remember when Wade said at the end of last year that Spencer was actually better than Ware down the stretch. But that could also be as a result of Ware hurting his neck.

Anyways, the reason Im bringing up Spencer is because Spencers breakout game was N.O.

If you remember he had 2 sacks and a bunch of hurries/hits on Brees. He also had 1 sack taken away by penalty.

Does he play for the Cowboys? Hmm, never heard of him.

Ah yes, we haven't had nearly enough negative threads about him. Good call.

I think Spencer is one of those guys who is ripe for offseason trade. He shows up when cowboys have momentum and everything feels safe....but is non existant when things get tough.

Disappointed? Yes. But only because my expectations were probably too high. I expected a Pro Bowl for him this season. That being said, I don't see why anyone would just single out Spencer. How can you not be disappointed in the whole defense or better yet the whole team?

spencer had another sack taken away last week because we accepted the penalty instead. Its hard out there for spencer but we need him to step up.

Yea there is a shock.

What does this even mean? Don't you think the Cowboys have momentum when Spencer is playing well and maybe the the team suffers when he is not. Spencer doesn't disappear when the Cowboys do bad. The Cowboys do bad when Spencer disappears.

Nope. With the way he finished last year he should have came ready for a pro bowl campaign this season, but he had us all fooled. He shows up when he wants to. And thats not often.

He was part of the problem earlier he was real bad about jumping out of his gap since the change he has played better and by maintaining his gap now he puts less pressure on other players on the defense

Spencer appeared to be finally breaking out late last season so I was expecting alot from him this season. This is his 4th year and should be reaching his potential. The Cowboys gave up 3 picks to trade back into the first rd in 07 to grab him including a 3rd and a 5th. I never thought he would develop into a Demarcus Ware but I thought he could be a Greg Ellis type player. He's not as good as Ellis was.

Probably the most disapointing player this season next to Jenkins. the way he ended last year he was playing at a Pro Bowl level. Now he is a JAG.

I'm reserving judgement on every player on this team, with the exception of MB3 until we have gone through the off-season, TC, and pre-season, next year. Then I look to move some if needed.

there are some guys who are ready to ball regardless of record or current state of team. Then there are guys to tend to show up when the team is winning and media reports are favorable. The first group are guys who take you to championships...the second group are guys who succumb monumentally when things dont go right.

Spencer played really well down the stretch last year starting with that New Orleans game when everyone had left us for dead. He was also one of the few who played a decent game against Minnesota.

If i remember correctly...it was Ware who didnt practice all week with neck strain and had a huge game (almost unstoppable) and NO was rolling most of its protection Ware way. So i would expect Spencer to play well in one-on-one...but that was mostly ware doings.

Wow, unbelievable... Spencer hasn't been bad this year folks. Go back and look at film.

Maybe you should go back and look at the film. I can't recall a game this year where Spencer held containment consistently.
