Not coming here this time so probably not. Saw them last time in 2011 and it was awesome. With T-town only 2 1/2 hours away I should be going but am saving money for Boston/Blue Oyster Cult and Def Leppard/Foreigner/Tesla tours this fall only about a month apart.

They are tremendous musicians...
Ive seen them in 80 and 86, and in the 86 show they favored the keyboard themed songs moreso than the 70s stuff which I prefer. Ive heard the setlist for this tour is supposed to be awesome.

For me, in the 80s I didn't really think much of them. Didn't listen to them. I knew distant early warning from MTV but that was it.

Mid 2000's I would hear then more and more... Slowing realizing that they had more than a few good songs.... I like 6 or 7 of their songs.

Saw their induction into RRHOF. It was pretty cool hearing their story.

I like all kinds of music. Very eclectic selection... But deep down... I am a metal head. Lol

I wasn't a fan at all but went to see Rush with a friend back in '85 or so, sat in the upper level at the Summit in Houston right above the stage to the side, they had some kind of lazer show hitting a screen above the band but we couldn't see it. Watching Neal Peart was amazing for a while but I was actually bored. They are amazing musicians though and I appreciate that more now.

His voice was always serviceable at best but was great for the band from inception until 84. His voice now is pretty much done although after seeing them on these last 2 tours, he did sound better on Kimmel and Ellen. No one, no even rock Gods can escape father time. Ed while still playing great, plays nothing like he did when I saw him in 79 and 80.

While this us mostly true...

Robert Plant - he hit dome major notes back in the day. It's not even fair now. He has zero chance of hitting those notes obviously but there is a reason why they won't tour. I font even think he can "get by" singing those songs and he knows it.

Few years ago, Robert Plant commented on The Eagles getting back together. He said they were probably bored. Henley specifically. Henley specifically. To which Henley replied, no, I just love it.

Saw the Eagles last year. Henley can hit all the notes same as in the 70s. Frey was a little apprehensive and careful with his singing. I would say he is still 75% of what he had.

Saw Sade, she can sing a song live with just a saxophone.
Saw fleetwood Mac and stevie, together and separate... Lindsey and stevie can still rip those lyrics up pretty good.

Bands I don't want to see because they are done:

Van Halen
Journey with philipino. While it's a great story. He is only, at times, a tad better than karaoke.
Not sure if steve perry can still sing. He hit some major notes too, like Plant. So who knows,

Oh my gosh I saw a Journey concert on Palladia a few weeks ago and couldn't believe those guys are touring with him. They can't need the money that bad. I couldn't finish the show and as a big Journey fan from back in the day was very disapointed.

they'd be better if the drummer came out front and sang. still not Steve Perry though, obviously

I saw Journey back in the day at the Texas Jam at the Cotton Bowl in 1982. That was a great show with a awesome lineup of bands.

I saw RUSH at the Texas Jam in 1984, another great show. Those Texas Jams were a lot of fun back in the day.

saw the '82 Jam at the Dome, Point Blank was damn good even though I didn't know who they were, Joan Jett sucked, walked out of the Dome with about 30,000 other people. Sammy Haggar was awesome, Santana was cool for a few songs but 1 1/2 hours of bongo drums is just too much Journey was great.

You know.., I watched the documentary about how they wanted steve and steve was out(that's another story) and they were up against the wall. They saw how bands were raking it in in this new era... They wanted a piece... As they should.

Searching and searching.lol they almost quit. Then they say Arnel. Again. Feel good story. This guy could hit "parts" of the lyrics. They bought into that.

What I remember what I really didn't like is that he chopped the word lyrics short.

"Some are born to sing the blue"

"Oh the movie never end it go on and on"

"Faiflee"

"Here we Stan...worl apart..." Etc

Totally killing whatever chance he had a bring adequate or close to it.

He always said he would step aside for steve. I believe steve wants back in.

Just do it!

I don't know if I'd have gone if it was outside, sure as hell wouldn't have in Houston.

The shows were to good just to stay inside in the air conditioning. Either you wanted to go or you didn't. The weather was just something you had to tolerate.

Point Blank was pretty good. Honestly, I can't remember anything about Joan Jett's set,but that was about the time we broke out the 151. Originally we planned to mix it with Coca-Cola, but the lines were insanely long so we just took sips from the bottle. Right before the Santana set, the crowd was getting restless and an all stadium trash fight broke out. It was like a giant food fight but with waded up napkins, paper cups etc.. It was actually a lot of fun, no bottles or anything like that, no one got hurt, everyone just having fun and releasing some energy. Hagar went a little nuts, something had happened to his guitar earlier in the day and was peeved about it. He threw the guitar on the ground on stage and tried to light it on fire, but it wouldn't light and that made him madder. He disappeared off stage for a few minutes and came back with a small gas can. Some concert crew/roadies tried to stop him, but he threw the gas on the guitar and lit that muther up. Several concert crew came out with fire extinguishers and put it out, but the crowd was going nuts. It was pretty crazy. Journey was pretty awesome, great fireworks show for "Wheel In Sky"
