Is this just bad luck, or is Newman's recent bout with injury (last year and now this....) due to age. Should we be concerned that the injury rate could be higher and recovery longer with any player over 30....or is this a person by person thing.....
I question his durability myself.
Remember he was playing to 60% health in '04 with that nagging knee injury(if Woodson hadn't gotten hurt that year, Newman would have likely missed a good number of games).
Last year, it wasn't just the foot injury he got in TC, but he injured his knee in the last stretch of the season as well.
Wasn't he 25 when he was first drafted? If memory serves, he had problems staying healthy in college.
With that being said-I'm relieved we drafted a very good corner with one of our #1's(instead of a WR). So if Newman gets hurt again, instead of Jacques Reeves/Nate Jones, we have good, young talent to step in.
