Anyone else nervous about Newman??

Newman will have time to come back from this injury before the start of the season. I'm glad if it was going to happen it happened now instead of the last week or 2 of the pre-season.

30+ old year corners.... i hope i dont have to say i told you so.

Thank goodness Newman isn't thirty yet (phew)! I guess we can stow away that soap-box for just a little while longer.

I'm no doctor, but I'll guess Newman's back before he turns 30.;)

Wade called it a "strained groin", and doesn't think it's serious.

Better to sustain an injury like this now rather than the last week of the pre-season, and the other corners should get more playing time as a result of it, which could be to our benefit in the long run.

Is this just bad luck, or is Newman's recent bout with injury (last year and now this....) due to age. Should we be concerned that the injury rate could be higher and recovery longer with any player over 30....or is this a person by person thing.....

We've done pretty everything to address the CB issue already. We added talented youth. One of which is already a pro-bowl caliber player, another of which has the potential to be one himself, and the other has promising ability as a future starter. What more could you ask for?

That they got rid of Reeves, oh thats right they did. Worst case scenario pacman starts. Ya I am traumatized. I agree with the above poster they are in good shape either way, that is the luxury of depth of talent.

I question his durability myself.

Remember he was playing to 60% health in '04 with that nagging knee injury(if Woodson hadn't gotten hurt that year, Newman would have likely missed a good number of games).

Last year, it wasn't just the foot injury he got in TC, but he injured his knee in the last stretch of the season as well.

Wasn't he 25 when he was first drafted? If memory serves, he had problems staying healthy in college.

With that being said-I'm relieved we drafted a very good corner with one of our #1's(instead of a WR). So if Newman gets hurt again, instead of Jacques Reeves/Nate Jones, we have good, young talent to step in.

Hell yeah Im nervous, If he is serious hurt there goes all the talk about our great secondary.

Don't worry, you haven't been around enough for anyone to care what you think.
