Anyone else not worried about the TE position?

I certainly wasn’t as worried about it as much as the hype train was building up. It actually seemed odd to me. You drafted a guy last year who was highly thought of and had a very nice rookie year considering he had a highly paid returning starter in front of him. Then you had an UFA who kind of came out of nowhere and showed he has the skills to be a productive TE if given a bigger role. Both of those guys should only improve with more opportunities. Sure, if you can find a clear upgrade add them to the mix but OL, DT, and RB seem like much bigger priorities to me and should be addressed first if possible. I’m actually kind of impressed that the team seems to have allowed and even fomented the TE hype train to hide their true intention and it actually worked so well that us fans were already in depression mode expecting LaPorta be the pick and a team traded up in front of them to get a TE. Again, very impressive to have pulled that off instead of allowing the actual target to leak. In past years, we would have heard Mazi’s name yesterday and the Chiefs would have been the one to do what the Bills did.

There are great TEs
That said, you're average NFL TE is made by simply using him.

First, Dallas needs a starter at guard...not another tackle to slot...trade to ensure this is done.

Next pick has to be a quality running back.

I think Dak needs all the help we can get in order to go anywhere so he's we need a stud TE, but making the defense better helps make up for Dak's inevitable mistakes so might work out.

I know all the analysts were saying we had to have a TE but the starter is already on the roster, Ferguson. The guy is going to have a huge year.

Add in Hendershot as the back up I think they are in good shape. Glad they did not waste a first round pick for a TE.
I was worried more about DT than I was about TE. But I would like some offense tonight. Maybe a guard and RB.

Still have bigger needs than TE, depends on how the draft goes before no. 58 of course, if all of the top 3 players at other need positions are gone by then (not likely, but with 32 teams involved, who knows?), then TE would be okay with me...

Need two good TE's on a team that wants to run. IM not worried because i think they get a good one on the 2nd day.

Ferguson and Hendershot are backups. If you want to win deep in the postseason you have to give this QB an upgrade at the skill positions. The lumbering hurdler isn't cutting it.

Not at all. Definitely wouldn't trade up for one, but probably wouldn't take one even at 90, depending on how the draft falls.

The Bills jumped in front of us to select Kincaide. They did that b/c they looked at our roster and determined we needed a TE and they didn't want to take any chances. So, they made a small move up to secure the player they coveted. That is what a smarter FO thinks of our TEs.

That's why I didn't think we were taking a TE at 26. I don't think we're taking one at 58 either. Maybe 3rd round.

The Bills do not have a smarter FO. They are horribly constructed, and that was a really dumb pick for them, regardless of if they traded up or not.

We've had a lot of great TEs amd far as I know none drafted or drafted high.

Ferguson looks good. Give him the chance

Ferguson, Hendershot and McKeon are all solid. Not a huge weakness. But I’d look for one being selected today.
