Anyone else feel like the two 'drops' yesterday by T.O. were not that big of a deal? It seemed to me at the time (haven't rewatched it yet) that at least one was thrown very low and would have gone for little to no gain. To me these were non plays, but the Fox guys and Peter King among others continue to play it up.

one was kinda a low throw and would have been a 4 or 5 yd gain at best (that was the first one)

I havent seen all the angles, but the other "drop" appeared to be a good defensive play by the Arizona DB

The first one would've gained maybe 5 yards.

The second one would've been a tough catch, but you would just like to see him make those catches more often.

Outside of some Cowboys fans, the sentiment seems like Owens is having a bad year. But he's probably looking at around 88 catches for 1,200 yards and 13 TD's (which would lead the league). Yes, the drops suck. Yes, the crap with him and Haley and other stuff is a pain in the arse, but I don't really see him as a bad investment if he continues at this pace.

Anyone else think..............that Tony Romo is always smiling?

It seems that everytime they show Romo on camera after a play, good or bad, he's always got this sheatin grin on his face. I LOVE it! It looks like he's having a blast playing football.

Count me as a ROMOSAPIEN.

No doubt that the Skins drop will have a huge impact on the season, and the 4th and 2 could have set up that NYFG game to be competitive. But it seems like they are trying to lump those in with these 'mundane' drops and make it into something bigger than it is (which is plenty big without their help)

YES!!!!!!!! Funny you mention this.
I had the whole family over last nite watching the game and I mentioned that T.R. is always smiling.
He looks like a man playing a kids game.
It's refreshing to see someone enjoying himself PLAYING A GAME !!!!!!!!

This guy is what the game is all about .

Remember ,It's not your life and it's not your wife , It's a game ,and he looks like he's got his head on straight and realizes the opportunity he has.

What a guy.

BSPN will look for anything they can on TO...I don't let anything they say really impact my thinking...I'm mad enough on my own about those two drops.

I try not to think.....It hurts :D

Me too, it also makes my hair fall out, turn gray and my teeth grind.

TO has had a fair first half of the season. I expect him to be the second coming of Michael Irvin though so it is hard for me to accept anything less. That and we could have swept the skinz with that one he lost concentration on. But even TO knows his parade only goes on so long as Dallas is wining.

I would love to see him have a break out game where he dominates Indy.

I didnt.

My cousin called me and was moaning and whining about it. The other one was a low ball even though I saw heard makes some tougher grabs that afternoon and the last one before Halftime was probably a good defensive play.

Of course, history would have conveniently been re-written if we would have lost the game.

I sure revisionist history folks would have made those 2 drops bigger then what they really were if that would have happened :) .

We were losing before the drop + we were losing after the drop = not a game-changing drop.

MIGHT have been a game-changing RECEPTION...

That's what I saw as well, on both plays. I only saw one drop.

Tickles me how Chris Henry drops a game winning TD pass at the end of the game and the national sports media doesn't even mention it, but Owens drops a meaningless 1st qtr 4 yd gain and they can't stop condeming him for it.

Agreed!

TO failed to continue a long string of TD catches such as that that solidified victories against the skins. It has become a tradition dating back to the longley days that a long pass nailed the coffin against the skins. He could have joined the ranks of Glenn, Rocket, Crayton, R williams, Irvin, Pearson, Galloway, Harper, etc., all of whom caught the deep ball to crush the redskisn hopes. As a result, TO temporarily ended the string of Cowboy QB's to beat the skins, keeping him in the company of Ryan Leaf as the only Cowboy QB's this decade to have not beaten the skins. :bang2:

Not to :horse: and also not blaming him totally for the loss, but I'm afraid that drop will keep us from the playoffs.

I dont.

If the Cowboys dont make the Playoffs they only have themselves to blame. TO f'ed up by not making that catch, but this team is 5-4 and still have what 5 games at home to close out the season.

We are in the driver's seat right now and if we dont make the Playoffs, that drop by T.O. wont be the reason we didnt make it.

Besides, most thought we would go 2-1 on that road trip, it just happened that the Skins, instead of the Panthers beat us.

Now, that drop determining whether we get in as a Wild Card or Division Winner is a different story entirely.

we should have won the game anyway...one play shouldnt cause you to lose against a lousy football team, and thats what the Skins are right now- lousy.

The drop sux, but drops are going to happen...nobody catches every pass every single week...there's plenty of other things we can look at as well and say thats the reason we lost

Exactly, and if you want to single out a play that lost that game, the blocked field goal is the one. No contest.
