Anyone else suffering from a "Philly Hangover"?

I suppose it's not that we lost to Philly but how we lost.

And whooping up on the Texans isn't going to fix it for me. I want us to play and beat a contender. I want to see that "statement" game where all the pieces come together. We don't have to blow out a good club by 2 touchdowns. Just play well-- all across the board. Don't give up big plays on defense... Don't give up 7 sacks... Have Bledsoe complete 17 out of 25 with a couple TD's and no picks... Show some conistency along all 3 facets of the game.

And while I'll be happy with a victory over the Texans, I don't think it's going to prove an awful lot. Many of the questions will still remain...

Can we handle stunts and blitzes?
Can we stop the big play?
Can our kicker show some consistency?
Will the "TO show" calm down?
Will Canty & Spears pick up the pace?
Will Bledsoe show any accuracy?

A lot of unanswered questions that for the most part won't be answered against the Texans.

What do you think?

What do you think?
Dnt forget:

Will el dorado hold on to more then 2 passes?
Will the Oline quit stepping aside allowing D linemen to waltz on back to Bledsoe?
Who will el dorado get in the face of this week on the sidelines?
Will Bill snap during next weeks press confrenece and make an *** of himself cause reporters wont stop asking questions about el dorados temper tantrums when he wants to talk about the Giants.
Will the reporters push Bill to a heart attack this week, by asking only el dorado questions? (Any bets on its LBOH that accomplilshes this first - lol)

Ah the el dorado circus, never a dull moment, even during the week, except it seems, for the time hes actually on the field.

What do you think?

can we handle stunts and blitzes- apparently not
can we stop the big play- apparently not
will Spears and Canty pick up the pace- yeah, when we have a better defensive system in place
will Bledsoe show any accuracy?- come on Mike, Bledsoe has thrown a number of perfect passes, unfortunately its usually been to the other team
and you left off "can we rush the passer" and that answer is the same as it always is, no

Hey Winicki, why don't you take your lousy attitude and go root for the Commanders.

Ok smartazz, give us your spin on this team. Do you think another convincing win over a punching-bag is going to prove much? ;)

Yeah.

We could see improved execution (esp. Bledsoe - Owens) and that would be good news. Green's punt returns will be interesting to see.

But this is one of those games where my main hope is that nothing bad happens. Just win the game that should be won, stay healthy, and move on.

It is kind of dull.

Well, one thing to look forward to is that we finally got rid of a Kicker.

I am up for the game because it's a game. The off season is too long. We haven't exactly lost tough games to chumps on at home, they were tough road games against very good teams that we were close to winning. This team will gel and there are a lot of games left to play.

Maybe we will see, mind you I said "maybe", an attacking game plan on both sides of the ball. After all it's just the Texans. It would be nice to see players playing to make a play instead of not making a mistake.

I will never forget Paecells on ESPN the next morning after the Cowboys loss to the Texans. Although everyone on the set that morning was elated, Parcells included, over the Texan ambush. He seemed not to be surprised that it happened.

Stay w/your vanilla game planning Coach and you could get ambushed in Texas Stadium.

I 'm expecting a win over Houston but so, big deal. After all it's just the Texans. I"ll get over the Philly game when I see us beat someone we aren't supposed beat.

BTW, I would say what I really think but I don't want to take three hours of Kittymama's time....which is how long it would take for her write a post calling me every name in the book (and some that aren't  )

Actually, underneath it all...I think she likes me.

While your thre, just focus on the oline. I am sure even against the Texans, though I expect success, you will see many weaknesses. They should just dominate them if their worth their salt. They will stand em up, but wont dominate them.

I'm telling you, when you give Bledsoe the time he needs (not talking 16 secs here, 4-6 good seconds), he is deadly.

It was this kind of underestimation of the opponent four years ago that cost us a defeat at the hands of the Texans. I think it could easily happen again. What will that tell you about this team?...

The season is long and there are always going to be up's and down's.

Last week we shouldn't have even been close at the end at dispite all our flaws in the offensive line and turnovers we still were leading at halftime and tied in the fourth qtr.

Bledsoe's inability to move hardly at all has me questioning whether or not he can lead us to the record our talent has on this team.

With this kind of talent we are at least an 11-win team this year.

The offensive line will have to get better but Bledsoe has not shown that he can play effectively in the road games within our division.

He has been here two years and in Washington,Philly and New York he looks like an un-coordinated klutz.

I think our O-line will play better but Bledsoe...I'm not sure about him.

What do you think?

We walked into the stadium of a conference rival, one that had a very very hot QB, into a situation where our new WR was going to be boo'd to the end of time, where they sacked our QB 7 times, and yet if Bledslow had been able to throw the ball away, we would have had 2 shot to tie or win at the end of the game.

Last year and the year before, in such a situation, we would have already been blown out by 20 points at the end of the game.

I think it says a lot about how our team has improved, that we're indignant, angry, upset, just kinda pissed that we didn't kick Philly in the booty. And I think it does say some things about how far we have to go, but it says more about how far we've come along.

I can't guarantee us a position in the playoffs, but no one in our division is taking this team lightly. I do think it'd do this team some good to take David Carr and beat him up like a rag doll. He's another QB that's on fire and we need some practice in taking that kind of player on.

What do you think?

This is exactly how I feel this weekend too.

No matter WHAT we do to the Texans it won't answer any of the questions facing this team. The ultimate question facing this team is "can we win big games?" I really don't think we can. And I'm being serious.

For some reason, and people can speculate about it all they want, we have an enormous problem getting the team up for big games. Big games like @Washington last year, @NYG last year, and @Philadelphia last year. Our team always comes out flat in these very, very important games for some reason. Even take last week for instance even.

It just seems like a very serious problem for a team whose aspirations are the superbowl, ya know? So discouraging to see them perform so poorly in games that mean so much, so often.

So I wish we could skip this weekend, honestly, even though we still need to pick up the win. You can kill all the bad teams you want, until you can beat good teams you're going no where. The Giants game will be a huge test that I really don't think we can pass. I think the Giants beat us, in Dallas. I've been given no reason to believe this team will be ready for that game, truthfully.

This game seems as meaningless as a game this early in the season could be. The ONLY way this game means anything is if we lose. If we win, it doesn't do anything but delay the question of how the season is going to go. I don't really think the W in the standings really means anything at this point, either.
