Hes a TV on Sports critic for the Post or Daily News, anyway hes got some hilarious stuff if you are bored. He calls teams wearing black jerseys to ninja gangstas and called Virgina Tech wearing them disrespectful to those of the school shooting.

I like to indulge in absurdity sometimes

He goes from absurdly funny to ridiculously frustrating really fast, trust me.

I've read Mushnick for years. He rarely makes a reasonable point and I think he's mentally ill. And I don't mean that as a joke by any means.

He honestly believes that fans at basketball games should not be allowed to yell and scream when an opponent is shooting free throws. And all of the other nutty stuff that has been mentioned.

He's awful, agreed on all points. He writes for one of the worst papers in the states (NY Post).
He makes Galloway and Engle look like Mark Twain and Louisa May Alcott.

I had a good friend whose mother was good friends with my mom and he was a pro wrestler. That's how I got into being a pro wrestling fan (although I watch it about once in a blue moon these days). Mushnick for years and years had major rants against pro wrestling. I found some of them very valid and from my knowledge of his dealings with Vince McMahon, I can see why Mushnick hates Vince (who is a legitimate dirtbag and the fact that anybody would vote for his wife for the Senate is scary).

Mushnick could, at one time, write really good columns *some* of the time. The rest of his columns were just psychotic, paranoid drivel.

Now everything is so paranoid and so sinister that I can only believe that the man has severe psychological issues.

Like I've mentioned before, I've got quite a few friends that work as writers, either in 'regular news' media and sports media. So I have a few friends that actually have dealt with Mushnick personally.

The difference between somebody like Galloway and Mushnick is that Galloway acts the way he does so it benefits him. Mushnick acts the way he does because it's no act...that's what he truly believes in.

Love his work. He's old school and unapologetic. Sure, he comes off as a cranky old man at times, but more often than not he's on the right side of an issue, especially the amoral landscape of sports marketing.

But the addition of all-black Nike Combat uniforms to Virginia Tech's wardrobe is particularly revolting. In the last few years the school's football team has joined many other programs in resembling a crime wave, with at least 20 players arrested.
Most infamously, VT football has given society the Vick Brothers, Michael and Marcus -- both pursued as full scholarship QBs, then as criminals.
Michael Vick, you know about.
Marcus? He survived two arrests, nine driving offenses and a suspension for an on-field stomping of an opponent. He finally was let go after he was arrested outside a McDonald's, charged with pointing a handgun at three teens.
And VT's campus, just three years ago, was the site of the most murderous rampage in the history of American colleges -- 32 shot dead and scores wounded by a student.

And now, just in time for the big season opener on national TV, here comes the Virginia Tech football team, dressed, on Nike's orders and for ESPN's cameras, to look like Ninja Gangstas! Perfect.
