Anyone for a second look at Bob Stoops?

I know the forum members are against this even if it were a realistic idea. I was set on Garrett and now i'm wavering again. wanting a new beginning with a tough head coach.

Jerry Jones could make it happen if it's what he wanted. i just don't think he'll cede the power to stoops that he would have to to get him here.

I don't want cowher as he's a steeler guy. i like garrett but am not sold on him. every move is risky but at this point i'd like to risk stoops.

maybe Jerry could replace wade with garrett now and see how it goes and if things don't look promising then go with stoops at the end of the year.

anyway you can flame me i deserve it for starting this. i just couldn't help it.

i'll be my own devil's advocate here and say the biggest risk with stoops would be that if he sucks in the NFL we'd be stuck with him for at least 3 years. stoops wouldn't leave Oklahoma without assurance that he would have time to make the team his own. 3 years is a long time to lose if he didn't work out.

other than that i see ALL choices as risky, and at this point, i want a new direction, coaching-wise

on the upside though it would be cool if he brought his brother Mike along with him. it could be a real exciting time

of course no guarantees but we don't get guarantees with anyone

imo, bob stoops would be the "WOW" coaching choice

The last thing we need to do is bring in a coach that needs on the job training.

Besides, Jimmy Johnson helped build the teams he coached, they sucked from the beginning.
