They (ES) thought Romo was dinking and dunking and didn't look all that impressive.

Wonder what they think about Campbell?

Not having Samuels in there is hardly helping(that LT is missing assignments).

Having watched alot of SEC games, Campbell was one heck of a player at Auburn. As much as it pains to type this-he'll be fine come wk 1.

At AU, Campbell was protected by outstanding running games. Teams had to play the run 1st every single play. Campbell is an average QB at best,, He will be a functional QB in the nfl, doubt he ever becomes any other than a "bus driver" . He is tentative but he is good if the 1st read is open, he struggles going thru his progressions and always have. I watched everyone of his games at AU,, huge AU fan, and I said it then and I still say it,, he was taken 2 to 3 rounds to early. He is a 3rd round talent, at best.

The only positive thing the skins have going for them is London Fletcher. He looks like a D1 player on a NAIA team.

He was awesome! Passes were on the money and once Samuels comes back, he wont have to worry about defensive pressure anymore.

If this is the case, then why did the Skins fork over a few draft picks for him? If he was an easy 2nd/3rd rounder, was this impatience nec?

JC looked composed and had good zip on the ball.

jason campbell looks like he is lost , even though he had some good throws it doesn't seem like he is seeing the field or his recievers very well. I have a very bad feeling about this season already.

JC should have had around 2 - 3 more completions. 8/14 or 9/14 ain't too shabby.

JC looks sharp in his decision making and accuracy (although receivers dropped a few passes),

Campbell has poise, played decently.

What I find funny is that they talk about how romo was throwing short passes, but won't recognize that both starting tackles were out. Yet they say their D played good even though Young didn't play.

Couple of thoughts.

First of all, it's preseason. You really can't tell too much. But usually, if you execute poorly in the PS, it doesn't bode well for the regular season. It's one thing to lose PS games. It's quite another to be totally inept.

Admittedly, I missed the first half, but it appears that Campbell was terrible. Certainly, the fact that he's missing Samuels is a factor. And while this is the first game of the year, it's not Campbell's first in this system. I know that most Skins fans have been clinging to the mantra, "this is the first time that Campbell will be in the same system two years in a row."

From what I've read, he didn't appear comfortable in the offense.

Now, contrast that with Romo.

He's in a new offense
He only had two of five OL returning from a year ago
He had his two best receivers for only one series
He admittedly went with shorter routes to aid the OL

Yet, he had a good game.

This tells me that Campbell has a long way to go. It also tells me that Romo may actually be a good QB. Good players can usually play well in any system.

We Cowboy fans know bad QBing. We saw it from Hutch, QC, Henson etc... Romo shows none of the qualities those QBs showed. I'll rewatch this game to see if Campbell showed any of those qualities.

I turned on the game for a minute and I saw Campbell complete a screen pass, throw an incompletion, throw a completion that got jarred loose, throw a screen pass that got called back......

And they think Romo dinks and dunks to get his yardage.

LOL.

Another funny thing.

NFLN just interviewed Bullocks. He said that the Tennessee defense was very "vanilla" tonight.

Nothing fancy, yet they seemed to utterly confuse Campbell.

I'm encouraged with Romo. Just watching QC and Hutch you could see that there was something missing. They would make a great play, then turn around and fumble, or throw to the mascot, or throw a pass that only the FS/DE could catch.

Romo acts like a REAL NFL QB.

It's called reading the defense....someone ought to tell them that maybe Campbell should try it sometime.

The Colts play a cover two. They want to make you dink and dunk down the field.

Romo took what was given.....and he did TAKE it.

Brunell over on the sidelines joking around and having a good time while his team sucks and lays an egg. I guess when you're used to being horrible, it stops bothering you.

I'm banned from ES right now so I can only read. :lmao2: Damn those skins fans are funny. Making excuses for Campbell and "giving" him more completions than he really has. Their starters played an ENTIRE HALF and nothing.....
