Anyone have an update on Jaylon Smith?

It is firing more than it did prior to the injury. It is firing so much that some of his team mates charge their phones by plugging their cords into his ears.

Bada Bing
Boo hiss
Try the veal

I wouldn’t think we’re going to be swarmed the entire offseason with Jaylon Smith threads like last year. Now that he’s played a full season and didn’t set the world on fire that should temper some of the enthusiasm for him. He did play better later in the season but it’s obvious he has a long way to go to be the player the Cowboys and the fanbase are hoping for.

He performed exactly how I thought he would; like a player that missed an entire year of football due to injury, as well as most of training camp, that was slowly worked into the lineup. I knew he would have some growing pains and wouldn't put up pro-bowl caliber numbers. However, my expectations for his future have not been tempered. I fully expect for him to blossom into the stud that he was pre-injury at Notre Dame. His learning curve is to be expected, just like most other NFL players. I think he will get there, and will definitely get better as time progresses.

He still has to wear a brace to play. He will probably always have to wear a brace to play. The nerve is not fully functioning. The nerve will probably never be fully functioning. This is something he can adapt to but do not expect a full recovery.

Next question? :flagwave:

Anyone have an update on him? Has his nerve fully regenerated?
When you see a report that he is playing without the brace, then we'll know the nerve is close to 100%. Until then nobody knows the exact status in terms of 70%, 80%, 90% etc..

His nerve should be fired along with the entire coaching staff. On second thought maybe not, every time the clapper claps the nerve keeps firing.
i seen 2 astonishing things happen over the last 2 weeks.

Bill Belichick clapping after his team made a bad play.
Nick Saban clapping after a bad play of his team

that is the best nfl coach in history and soon the best college coach in history
come to think of it
ALMOST EVERY SINGLE COACH CLAPS!

im thinking it doesnt matter if he claps

he could be like Pete Carroll and add clapping + gum chewing to his repertoire
but again i dont think it will matter
