Last month I started building models again as a way to pass time after my Mom passed away. Here are a couple I have done so far.

U.S.S. Ticonderoga.

I was never in to ships or planes but I used to build cars all the time but I don't have the patience for it any more.

I used to be an underwear model...mostly underoos. :laugh1:

Just Kidding.

Nice work on your model.

I really like the Arizona model. How long did that take you to complete?

Pretty cool. I always liked modelling, but never had the touch. These days, modelling falls under the category of "interesting, but don't have the time". Someday, I'd love to get into modelling trains. The kind where you build like a whole city with terrain, tunnels, scantily dressed women walking down the street, etc.

I used to build model planes when i was a kid. About 2 years ago, I was at M.J. Designs with my GF and I saw a big model of my favorite all time plane. The A-10 Warthog. So I spent about $100 on the model, the paints and a modeling kit that comes with all the other necessities. It has been sitting in my closet untouched ever since. :(

And Cliff, those models you made are GREAT!. I never did a ship. I always wanted to build a sail ship. One where you have to run all the strings and everything.

I hoping that when I get in my less formidable years, I'll get back into it. I plan on having a real nice vegetable garden one day too.

I suck at things like that I end up gluing my hands together or something

Thanks guy's. Each one took about two weeks of tinkering in my spare time.

Sorry to hear about your mother Cliff... that's tough stuff...

Meticulous things can be good therapy... excellent work on those models...

When I was a small boy my dad and I built countless airplane models... when we finished them we hung them from the ceiling over my bed... I had several squadrons of various planes over my bed... good times...

I built and flew R/C planes for a while... I have considered, at times, getting back in to modeling...

I was into it in High School. War planes mostly. Did an aircraft carrier one time. I forget which, but I want to say the Lexington.

Aikmaniac on this site and his dad build RC airplanes. The detail they put into them is amazing. You can hardly tell they're models. Hopefully he'll see this thread and post some.
