The Patriots listed their inactive players via a Twitter posting mentioning last names only.

One of the names listed is "Thomas."

It didn't register that they have only one Thomas: Adalius.

Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald pointed out the fact that Thomas is a healthy scratch. Thomas did not appear on this week's injury report.

A big-money free agent addition in 2007, the move could be a sign that the Pats are dangling Thomas in the hopes of getting help at another position. Or to simply continue to pile up 2010 draft picks.

He's getting older, but still I'd take him for a mid round pick. Adalius Thomas is what we want Jason Williams to be, a guy who is athletic enough to cover WRs, kill QBs from the edge or shut down the run at MLB.

In Wade's scheme, Thomas would get considerably more sacks than Spencer. And unlike Greg Ellis, Thomas can cover RBs AND contain the outside the run.

Very interesting. New England could wind up really stocking up on 2010 draft picks.

The Pats got freaking robbed in signing that guy. He's probably made 5 plays for them since the day he was signed. Of course it was universally worshipped as an incredible move since the Pats signed him.

The fact is he just isnt that good a football player.
