Anyone know about C Alex Stepanovich, was released by steelers today

Steelers released C Alex Stepanovich.

The former Ohio State star lasted 21 days on the roster. Stepanovich will likely resurface elsewhere this fall, but shouldn't be counted on to start.

I am just curious about him. I know we have a center with Preston, but say something happens between now and start of season, so asking if anyone knows about him,

Assets A top competitor and hard worker. A fundamentally sound blocker with great leverage and leg drive. Has lower-body strength and doesn't get moved backwards. Makes smart line calls. Very durable.

Flaws Not a top athlete. Doesn't move well laterally, making him vulnerable against slashing defenders. Doesn't block well in space and will miss his second level target. Cannot snap out of the shotgun.

He's a journeyman. His first three years were with the Cardinals and since then has been on the Bengals for a year, then went to the Falcons, and now had a cup of coffee with the Steelers.

He was listed on our *off-season* roster a couple of years ago. I don't remember if he was ever on the practice squad or not, though, or even got to go to training camp for that matter.

i dont want any of the steelers cut players from their o-line

their o-line sucks as is

every gm last yr they had ben running for his life.

im still suprised they keep ignoring their line and not seriously trying to upgrade it.
