I have heard multiple times that D. Harris ranks near the top of the league in punt and kick returns but have not heard anything overall about our special teams rankings.

Have to say have not heard much complaining this year over the Special Teams. Seems like they are quietly having a pretty good season under the new Special Teams coach.

I'll post the rankings if I find them, but this is what I found on PFF - http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/dal/2013.htm

Dwayne Harris - 14.0 Y/PR & 31.3 Y/KR
Rest of Team - 6.8 Y/PR & 21.2 Y/KR
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Average of Team (Harris Included) - 11.5 Y/PR & 28.3 Y/KR

Even though he's a Special Team player, he's one of our most valuable players on this team. When he's playing he doubles our PR avg, and he also increases our KR avg by almost 60%.

Special teams have been pretty good and certainly an advantage vs most opponents on average.

Harris is 2nd in the NFL in Punt Return average (14.0)
Harris is 2nd in the NFL in Kickoff Return average (31.3)

Dan Bailey is 9th in FG % made
Dan Bailey is in the middle of the pack for FG made...mainly because Dallas' redzone offense has been so much more effective lately.

Dallas is 7th best in kickoff return coverage average (21.1 yards)
Dallas is tied for 13th in punt return coverage average (7.8)

My own ranking:

2013 Special Teams >>>> 2012 Special Teams

Rich Bisaccia >>>> Joe DeCamillis

Football Outsiders has us 9th overall. We were 1st at the bye, but the last couple games and especially the fumbled opening kickoff against the Raiders knocked us down quite a bit. They break it down as follows:

FG/XP: 7th
Kickoffs: 19th
Kick returns: 5th (pretty amazing, given the aforementioned fumble)
Punts: 16th
Punt returns: 7th

Dwayne Harris has really found his niche. I'm happy for him. I watched him at east Carolina and his explosion was evident even then. Also love the passion he plays with. Glad he's on our team. The special teams are leaps and bounds better than its been in the past several years.

Harris is the only special part of our special teams ( slight belay - Bailey is the goods ).

The guy just makes plays. He'll manage a head scratcher now and again but we are ZERO threat to return without him.

Plus how many guys return kicks for TDs mutliple times in a year AND are consistently downfield making special teams tackles? Guy plays two ways on ST.

And he can play some WR too.

I can't see ever bemoaning this guys effort when he picks up his check at the Cowboys payroll window...
