Anyone know the head count at stadium last night? Cowboys fans and Giant fans?

Does anyone have the percentage number of Cowboy's fans vs Giant's fans at AT&T Stadium for our opener? Was anyone there? How was the crowd?

Remember last season we had the issue of more 49ers fans showing up than Cowboys fans as evident to the sea of red at AT&T Stadium.

Can anyone speak about this with more knowledge?

From that answer I also want to see if season ticket holders are still turning around and selling their tickets to opposing fans or fans who are willing to pay over markup. Or if anything there changed. Haven't read or seen anything, an article or whatever, on this subject yet.

You're already on the wrong track if you think only Cowboys fans own season tickets. A large percentage of those are owned by brokers. Another group that owns many of them are transplants to Dallas that see it as a nice side business. When their home team comes to town they keep the tickets for themselves.

Because of the tens of thousands of DFW residents not being from the Metroplex they can make allot of noise at the stadium.

I thought the crowd was great last night and there were no wide shots of groups of Giants fans everywhere. I think this year is going to be a lot different with the crowds.

Thought the crowd was solid and pretty amped up last night. There was a solid Giants contingent but nowhere near 50%. Maybe a quarter of the crowd?

It's like every third thread started here has some sort of blame for "season ticket holders." It's almost like blaming "the 1%" or "the government." Easy scapegoat and impossible to prove.

Yep, a lot of people don't understand this dynamic, there are thousands and thousands of transplants and they bring their money and team loyalty with them when they move here.

The reason there were so many 49ers fans at the game last year is because there are a lot of Silicon Valley / San Francisco transplants living in Austin and even Dallas as a lot of SF companies have opened or even moved offices there.

No. A quarter? Not even close to that.

Might be a high estimate, I'm not good at estimating these kinds of things. I did see a lot of Giants fans in the parking lot during pregame, but that may not be representative sample.

that makes a lot of sense. thank you. I guess we hadn't had SF be a season opener opponent for a long time? And it was probably before all the cali transplants?

and so are season ticket holders still to blame?

i acknowledge that i could be off and wrong about the blame being season ticket holders. but there is an article i refer to that shows that selling off tickets by the season ticket holders to be a reason for the sea of red. not saying that articles position is right just that what i was going on because it was all i had on the why of the sea of red. now that i have some information on the cali transplants angle im considering that too. but are there any facts or at least an article to back up that position beyond just someone mentioning that on here?
