Anyone know what Romo is trying to improve?

Before camp Romo said he is trying to work on something that should help his game. He said he wouldn't tell it but we would figure it out.

Has anyone heard or figured out what it is yet?

Just wondering.

I haven't heard anything to confirm the following but a few suggestions have been

1) checkdown to the RBs
2) back shoulder throws

Probably back shoulder throws. He seems to be doing it more this training camp.

That's what I was thinking (checkdowns). I was asking to see if anyone could verify that's what's he's doing.

He seems to be hitting a boatload of checkdowns in each practice.

Just from the past few min.

Tim MacMahon (ESPNDallas):
Romo 15-yard out to Austin in front of Jenkins. .... Olshansky on a stunt just ain't pretty. The guy just doesn't have the lateral quickness to make it happen. ... Romo checkdown to Anderson.

Romo checkdown to Barber is dropped. He had Bryant open on an out to that side but didn't throw it to the rookie. ... Romo deep down the seam to Dez incomplete. Mike Hamlin was stride for stride with him.

Tim MacMahon (ESPNDallas):
Ratliff beats Davis again. ... Romo hits Hurd down the sideline. Newman lost him. ... Romo checkdown to Barber. ... Bowen shows nice quickness with outside move, but Kosier recovers.

As a Romo fan 2 things I would like to see him improve
1 the corner fade throw
2 do a better job of selling play action.

I would like to see him run for first downs more.

Only if he does a better job of sliding once he gets the 1st down.

I'm thinking more like picking up the first down and then run out of bounds.

Great but often times you can't get to the sidelines.

I know last offseason he spent a lot of time working on getting back from center quicker so he'd have more time to go through his reads. He also wanted to work on not sliding forward in the pocket and creating pressure that wasn't there.

From what I understand this offseason and in the pro bowl last year he wanted to work on throwing vertical routes up the seams. I'd expect to see him and Witten working that area early and often this year.

Personally I'd hope he's working on his deep ball. I know people question his arm strength, and even though the deep out is the true litmus test for arm strength - I'd like to see him air it out a lot more this year. In one on one opportunities give guys like Miles, Dez, and Roy an opportunity to use their body and leaping ability to go make plays. He seemed to have good chemistry with Owens on the deep ball during their time here. More often than not when you take shots you either get a big gain or a PI penalty called.

He doesn't need to throw it up in double coverage - he gets berated for not taking care of the football enough, just give his receivers more chances to make plays on the football.

Just my thoughts.
