I noticed Phillips was open in almost every play. He is a baller. Martellus should be much improved. Is one of them susceptible to a trade for a corner?

I would try wording your title a little differently...

I know this won't be a popular idea but I'd try to trade Bennett and move Phillips to 2 and Rucker to 3.

No. I'm not overreacting to Thursday's game. I want to increase Phillips' role in this offense and Rucker is a capable 3rd TE.

Plus I don't think Bennett will ever be anything more than he is now. An immature, inconsistent tease.

It has crossed my mind to try to keep Rucker at the expense of a traditional fullback and let Phillips handle those duties?

I'm down with that. It's why I didn't like the Chapas pick. He's a decent prospect but I was hoping we'd phase out a traditional FB on the roster and just let Phillips handle that role. Get him on the field as much as possible and save a roster spot.

I think we need to trade MartyB, maybe get a corner or another G.

I think MartyB has a lot of potential but you cant wait forever for someone to start showing what they have.

And yes, we have depth at that position. We should ship Marty B. They were talking about him not being a gamer and just a San Antonio all star. Could be true?

Martellus will ball for us this year just watch man, i hope Phillips can be our FB and we keep Rucker behind Wit and MartyB

You are right. If for no other reason, they are much different type TE's.

.

It's not a bad idea at all. I'd like to see a little more from Rucker before I'd declare him a keeper.

Yep, they are deep till somebody goes down, and if it is Witten you arent going to like Phillips as a number 1. Isnt it nice to have a position that is set, instead of worrying about a starter going down?

nobody has an abundance of corners to trade, best you could get is a draft pick, if rucker continues to improve, I'd have no problem trading Bennett....

Phillips nor Rucker nor JW for that matter can block as well as martyb. If Jason goes down you'll see the deficiencies that Phillips has. Especially considering the knee concern, trading martyb is not a good idea.

Phillips is an infinitely better blocker than Bennett.

It's not even close.

Call me when Phillips is flattening defensive ends.

Ya'll killing me......we have 3 TEs that can start pretty much start anywhere, but no 3rd WR. JG knows this, and we can't get value for any of them cause we don't use them right now. We use mostly 2 WR sets cause of this.

Just tired right now, Bennett and Phillips are good, and could start for other teams......make a trade if you don't want that talent on the field together and let me take a nap. Its saturday and no real football

You call me when Martellus Bennett is considered a blocking back on anyone's offense.

Hahaha. Way to live in 2008.

If you can't see the difference between this year and others, look a little bit closer.

His size and athletic ability make him very attractive for our sets, especially with Philly's trio of corners. We can split him out wide, in the slot, or on the line, not to mentioning what we can do with him pre-snap with motion.

Our tight ends are a strength of this team. Let's use them, not trade them.

He's a Tight End. Not an H-back.

He's also a very very good blocking tight end. Phillips has the potential to be a good player for us, but saying he's a better blocker than Marty B because Phillips can play the H-back role is pretty ignorant.

If you watched the one playoff win of the last decade, Marty was mauling people. He laid someone out for Felix's 80 yard scamper.
