Anyone Play the DayZ Mod for Arma 2?

just started playing a couple days ago and its really fun. Its Walking dead/red dead redemption. Hardcore pvp zombie survival. Biggest map in a game I've ever seen. Skyrim is supposed to be 61square miles or something and DayZ is 225 square miles. oh and its Hardcore haha so when you get shot by a player or zombies get you. or you die of lack of food. or you die in the rain of hypothermia because you have no heat packs. or you actually are lucky enough to find a vehicle but you run it into a fence bust a tire have to search for a tire to repair your car and die in the effort you lose all your gear on you. unless you can get back to your body in time. Not sure if this is anyone's cup of tea but just thought i'd see if anyone plays or knows of the game/mod.

I have friends who are playing but I'm having a hard time getting the mod to work. After a couple hours I gave up.

Looks really cool, hope I can get it up and running soon.

DayZ is a Mod for Arma II which is an Army sim game. I play with 2 other guys we had a base camp set up in the forest with about 5 vehicles and 7 tents full of amo/guns/supplies. So if we do die we could just walk back to our basecamp in the woods and reload. We got raided last night while we were south raiding towns someone found our base camp n messed **** up!

I've seen some video of the gameplay on youtube by one of the Youtube commentator guys Seananners playing it.

To be quite honest it looks extremely boring to me and after watching about 10 or 15 minutes of his gameplay on youtube of it I decided it wasn't even worth looking into.

At least for me anyway.

It's definitely not run-n-gun. That will get you killed quick. Arma (on which Day Z is based) is probably the most serious of the military simulators out there. Because if you don't have the scriptwriter helping you out, you'd die real quick in all those other movies and games.

Yeah I don't know anything about the Arma military part of it. I've never seen it. I've only seen this Day Z thing being played and it just looks incredibly boring to me.

Like a WoW type game with Zombies instead of Orks, dragons, and elves.
