Also, what do the Patriots want for Isiah Wynn? I think we could justify spending a pretty decent amount of draft capital for him, in order to keep Josh Ball off the field.

Can't be much.......he's a free agent next season

Alarcon still might get a chance as will Ball as will Waletzko as will Collins on Friday night. When they cut to 53 Alarcon automatically goes to the PS since he is the international player so if they think he can handle the job at LT then they can bring him up later next week after all the moving of guys to PUP list and IR list without risk of losing him.

It appears that initially Smith, Washington and Gallup will all make the 53 then on Wednesday moved to IR and short term PUP. Going to be some interesting cuts. Wouldn't be surprised to see Ball cut then brought back on Wednesday or even Vander Esch. The Tuesday 53 will look nothing like the Wednesday/Thursday 53. Could see them go with 2 QB, 2 RB, 4 LB and 8 OL on Tuesday but come Wednesday/Thursday those numbers will change.

As to signing a free agent OT, probably won't happen until after the 1st game so they don't have to guarantee them a full year if they aren't on the roster the 1st week.

Yep, sounds like hes really struggled.

Be interesting if he is cut and makes it to us via waiver wire. Maybe a change of scenery will help.

If they cut players they want to bring back it would be veteran players on one year deals. LVE would work, so would both kickers. Ball would not work, he would go through waivers and it's likely that a 4th rnd OT would be claimed. Even Brandon Knight was claimed by the ravens last year.

Eho was the Cinn left tackle that retired last year. Throw him a bone for one year. No state income tax in Texas and it's much much nicer then Cinn.

Live in Vegas...so see updates, etc. on the Raiders. Leatherwood was terrible last year, and was moved from tackle to guard.

FWIW ... from PFF: Leatherwood allowed the most pressures of any offensive lineman in the NFL as a rookie (65) and had a 29.0 PFF pass-blocking grade. He recorded four separate games with a sub-20.0 pass-blocking grade,

Some speculation that they could be open to trading him. We have the cap and he could potentially be moved inside down the road if Tyler moves to LT.
Has to be a reason on why they give up on such a high draft pick. Is he dumb? Is he lazy? Not motivated? Doesn't really love the game? He's young and may need out of Vegas to concentrate better with a new staff.

I think Tyler Smith is going to be thrown into the fire at LT but I really hope they bring in competition for McGovern at LG.

Question is:

Would we want Tyler Smith thrown to the wolves ..

or would we want it to be Josh Ball as thrown to the fire instead ?

he was great at alabama.
if he's healthy...what the hell.

Thats the thing. I get it. Maybe he got some coin and really doesnt want to play. But he certainly was a talented guy. Maybe its a mental thing? Maybe he just didnt like being a Raider.

I happen to like Ball as well. I think hes getting killed on here, but needs to be given a chance. But he hasnt even played one real game yet.

I dont see these guys practice everyday. Dont know how hard they work or how smart they are. This game is much more than physical talent.

But experience helps as well. If there is someone we can pick up that has a little of that under his belt, then I say kick the tires. Even if its just a few games to let the youngins some more time.

But in no way would I give up picks or guaranteed money to someone as a flyer. On the flip side, most teams are looking for young talented OTs. And the teams that have more than 2 arent going to just give them away.

When Leatherwood was coming out for the draft, I rated him as a fifth round guard prospect. I don't get a lot of evaluations right, but I nailed that one.

Think Gruden and Mayock stole him in round one . He was a guard out of college . Not sure how that helps we already have back up guard types at the Buffett line in Frisco doubling up on the dinner rolls .
