Chargers | Brees dislocates shoulder; more tests coming
Sat, 31 Dec 2005 17:43:06 -0800

KIOZ 105.3 FM radio, of San Diego, reports, San Diego Chargers QB Drew Brees (shoulder) suffered a dislocated throwing shoulder, according to head coach Marty Schottenheimer. Brees will undergo more testing to determine if he injured the labrum in his shoulder, which would also determine if he needs surgery. Schottenheimer said the shoulder did pop back into place on its own.

Never wanted him. So, no still don't. Too pricey for what he is worth.

I wanted to Draft him even though I consider him to be a bit short at 6'1". Haven't wanted him since as I think the price to acquire him would be too high. I'm happy with the 3 we have.

Depending on how bad the injury is and the price tag, absolutely i want him......drop Romo...then rest assured your starting QB in 06 will be Drew

Why would those who wanted him all of the sudden change their mind as a result of a dislocated shoulder?

Like he won't heal by next season.

I think he is a good QB and would be a great addition to any team for the right price.

Correct Quickdraw. Brees would be a great addition, but I suspect the price would be steep, and IMO wrong for the Cowboys right now.

I think they will trade Rivers.
Brees is a known commodity.

Nah, drop the 2 flunkies on our roster or keep one for backup purposes and draft one.

Probably right. But stranger things have happened. The Chargers have a ton of offensive talent but still went a long time without scoring late this season. Also, missing the playoffs with the expectations the Chargers had after last season will make for some soul searching. Not saying it's likely but something is going to happen there.

For Rivers, he is an unproven commodity but with a pretty good pedigree. Would you take him? I just might...for the right price. But the price will be steep and I'm not one of those folks putting a new high profile young QB at the top of the Cowboys needs list right now. There will be lots of takers on a Brees/Rivers auction and I don't think the Cowboys should be in the bidding.

I think Brees is a goner. I think the Bolts will franchise him again and then trade him to the highest bidder.

There are a few teams who need a QB worse than the Cowboys.

Arizona
Miami
NYJ
Possibly Detroit

Pat Kirwan or Randy Cross was talking about how Brees performs when the game is close. 1td/7ints and his completion percentage is down around 10% when the game is close.

The youth of the Chargers team could withstand a young QB.

Anybody see the hit SD put on him? It was a real cheap shot.

Ever heard of a guy named Chad Pennington? He hurt his shoulder/rotator cuff twice now. Would you want him? Anytime you pop your shoulder out, there is going to be some degree of injury to the rotator cuff.

I think it's too risky. Also, any recent talk of the Boys going after a Charger QB revolved around getting Rivers.
