Anyone think Maurice Jones-Drew will get a fine

Maurice Jones Drew will get a fine for using the field goal poll as a prop? They hammered TO for using the ball as a prop (BS by the way), so I'm just curious if the league will slap Jones-Drew with something similar. I thought his TD celebration was great, but we know the NFL is the NoFunLeague.

Since TO got fined for using the goal post as a prop, Drew-Jones should be fined as well.

I would hope so or else there is an obvious double-standard in the league

Owens was fined for using the ball as a prop. Not the goal post. I know they initially said it was the post, but when the fine was handed down it was for using the ball as a prop.

Edit: I guess I was wrong. Apparently it was both. I just looked up an article that contained this:

Owens said Wednesday he was fined "a good chunk of money" -- which he later defined as thousands of dollars -- for a celebration that included him using the goal post and football to poke fun at the New England Patriots' spying scandal during Dallas' 37-20 victory over Miami this past Sunday.

It's a stupid rule, in my opinion. Let them have some fun, how the hell is using the ball vs not using the ball, going to have an affect on anything? If you ask me, it's just a rule for the sake of rules.

I'm surprised they haven't outlawed dreads yet, they should make everyone wear their hair with a part down the side like Peyton Manning.

I didn't see his celebration. What did he do?

He acted like he was getting his wallet out of his pocket and used the goal post as the ATM machine. It was pretty clever IMO.

I think the rule covers "props" in general. You can't use the ball, goal post, pylon, pom poms, sharpies, trampolines, apple pies, milk shakes, live animals, dead animals, and so on.

I'm really getting tired of most end zone celebrations. It's turned into a game of charades.

Ummm... CHANGING A BABY'S DIAPER!!!

No.... FILMING A MOVIE!!!

Wait.... ATM MACHINE!!!

C'mon!, I miss the days of Butch Johnson and the California Quake. One signature end zone celebration...

Or, better yet, spike the ball, celebrate with your teammates. Act like a teammate, and a champion!

This isn't a game of charades.

Ok, LOL. What's the difference between Butch Johnson and the California Quake and what TO or Jones-Drew did? Nothing except Butch Johnson and the California Quake must have been in your hey day.

This is just his way of taking another shot at T.O.

Look, since everyone seems to only want to discuss my opinions of Terrell, here it is.

He has definitely improved and I'm glad for that, personally. I'm surprised that the star he hated has now become a place that he likes to be. I'm surprised that he's getting along with all his teammates and all his teammates are getting along with him. They are having fun. They are winning, and I'm glad.

I truly hope this is a permanent change for him. In looking at the good times the Cowboys are having, it is easier to be a good teammate. My opinion of him will go up a great deal if the Cowboys go through some tough times, and he's still a good teammate.

To this point, however, I still would rather not have the 49er who stomped on the Dallas Cowboys star, and exalted himself on the symbol that represents Tom Landry, Roger Staubach, Randy White, Tony Dorsett, my childhood heroes. That is still something he has never apologized for.

I think the Cowboys could still have some reasonable success without him in the lineup. That being said, I hope he has changed for the better, permanently.

Umm... you do realize this is football we're talking about right? It's a bunch of grown men, on a grass field, throwing an inflated piece of leather around and hitting each other. It's not a church, or some sort of sacred holy site. Why on earth would he have to apologize?

I mean if he spit in your face, or stole your parking spot, then I'd agree that he should apologize. But let's be real here, it's just a game we all happen to enjoy watching. Whether or not T.O. stomped on the star will not bring about world peace or cure cancer.

I agree 100%. I don't see what he did as a big deal at all honestly. If I were a Cowboy player at the time he did, YES I would have been pissed. I've done similar things in my playing days. In my mind it's all about showing the other team and the other teams fans that I'm that good. Period, end of story. And mostly it's all emotion coming out at those times, because football is an emotional sport.

The Fans of Other Teams thought that Irvin celebrating after each first down and Emmitt taking off his helmet in their endzone was disrespectful too .....

nathanit is just like that person who thinks its "disrespectful" for Romo to wear his hat backwards ....

 Get over it and let the guys have fun.

Wearing a hat backwards is no big deal.

Disrespecting Tom Landry and Roger Staubach is a big deal to me. It's not a big deal to you guys, though. But you're the new breed of Dallas fan, fantasy leagues and stats rule the day. You don't know what you missed in the days when 80% of the players were loyal to their teams. Great times, and the Cowboys were the greatest of them all!
