I read an article that shippers don't send used and/or empty shipping containers back to a country of origin. They're manufactured way too cheaply in China, Japan and a few other cheap-labor countries to ship an empty container.

There's a huge surplus of empty shipping containers sitting in the Port of LA, as well as other major ports as-we-speak.

Much better use of these IMO.
