Anything Make You Optimistic for 2025?

We’re not finding Dak’s successor in this draft. This is a weak QB draft and we’re not about to use our top pick on a QB. We have far too many holes to fill and need a backup QB. If we don’t nail this draft we could be headed for another losing season
In the same boat here. It's company policy not to seriously participate in free agency or savvy trades. But, with each draft comes a glimmer of hope that gold will be struck, but I won't be "optimistic" about anything until Dak's successor is procured. Hoping we draft that guy in 2025.
A losing season is foreordained & inevitable. Shoring-up perceived roster holes in an effort to "win now" is rather like putting lipstick on a pig at this point. Like it or not, it's 1988 all over again. Let's move on to 1989, and get a serious rebuild underway.

I am optimistic about the draft - then, again, I always am optimistic about the draft.

I am optimistic about the FA signings. Nothing flashy and most are on 1 year contract. However, they did address a few weak spots with solid additions

I am optimistic that the FO has been relatively quiet this offseason

This hire of Brian Shottenheimer will either be compared to Norv Turners hiring as Raiders head coach at a point in time where , much like Dallas, weren't very well run, not relevant, or to the hiring of a guy like Todd Bowles down in Tampa, where he's largely well regarded as a HC. Has had pretty good success so far. I think it could go either way. Remember, alot of folks poo pooed the hiring of Todd Bowles. The man has worked wonders with Baker Mayfield and a team that's been in flux since Brady left. I see something similar in Dallas especially if Dak leaves or is replaced. I'm optimistic either way.

No

I’m at the point where I want a signing or something to make me excited…

That’s first and foremost, football should be exciting, I use to run home to watch the cowboys play I loved it

Now it’s just bland, boring and stale…same old crap

Coogles will run out of ideas for new threads.
Several of us have been PMing him with thread ideas.....im fairly confident we have enough material for the next 2 years.....buckle up, buckaroo

Having said that, my personal goal is to see them break into the top 25 against the run this year

Absolutely not.

Dallas is doing what they do.

Dumpster diving in Free agency, dragging their feet with our Free Agents so their price skyrockets, relying on rookies as our only real improvement.

We have to build around Dak who will be entering the first year of his mega contract. We have to try and win with him with all the money we have invested in him the next few seasons. We need to build around him and find his backup. We’re not as bad off as we were in 1988. It would be insane to use our top pick on a QB like we did in 89 when there’s not an Aikman in this draft.

I wouldn’t go that far. We could end up being better than most think if we can nail this draft and not suffer the enormity of injuries we suffered last season. It was mainly key players being out for a bunch of games including our QB that derailed our season. You can’t just throw in the towel in March and brace for a bad season.
