Joe Theismann Does Not Share Your Opinion of Joe Theismann

I had yet to see one person react negatively to the news that Joe Theismann is no longer broadcasting Monday Night Football games ... that was, until I stumbled upon this article in the LA Times, which quoted one person who couldn't figure out why ESPN would fire Joe Theismann.

That person was, perhaps not unpredictably, Joe Theismann.
Joe Theismann, bumped out of the ESPN "Monday Night Football" booth and replaced by Ron Jaworski, said Monday the move "came out of the blue" and he has "no earthly idea" why it was made.
Evidently, Joe Theismann doesn't read blogs. If he did, he'd quickly begin to gather that the earthly idea behind his firing was that no one really liked him. But, don't sweat it, Joe ... bloggers dislike most commentators, particularly ones in high profile jobs. And I'm sure you'll land on your feet somewhere else, too.

Oh, and you know who else might react negatively to the news that Joe Theismann is out of MNF job? College football fans. Why? Well, according to Joe, ESPN, offered him the Saturday night college football gig along with Brent Musberger. Maybe ESPN could even -- and you'll love this idea -- team him back up with Paul Maguire.

I actually wouldn't mind him in college football. He'd be Pro Notre Dame and that would drive me nuts, but I could live with it.

I think he'd be terrible doing college. He's obviously more pro oriented. I hope this doesn't mean we hear a lot more from Kornheiser. I like him better when he only says one sentence every 5 minutes.

I like Kornheiser...loved his radio show on ESPN. I really like having him on MNF, but I do think he was held back by Theismann. Although towards the end of the year he was calling Joe on the carpet for some of his outlandish comments. That was good.

Jaws is a great announcer...this really tightens up that MNF crew.

I think that is too much air time for Tony K.

Last night I watched Dallas vs. Orlando in the Arena League. I hate Arena football and that in motion WR crap, but I was bored.

Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic were doing the game. Far more entertaining and informative than last year's MNF crew.

I thought Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic did a great job when they did the arena game. Much better than the MNF crew.

True....but at least I didn't mind listening to them.

The MNF night crew I would turn down the tv volume and listen to the radio commentary. :)

Greatest MNF lineup ever:

Dandy Don, Frank Gifford, Howard Cosell (Keith Jackson would have made it perfect)

Worse lineup: Any lineup with Theisman, O.J., Karras, The Hammer
