I'd like to see an actualy count vote just to see how many writers left Ware off there ballot. But congrats to he and Witten, they deserve it.

Also, you'd think they could spell Ware's first name right. Sheesh. And how did Tuck make first team ahead of Abraham?

Pretty crappy team if you ask me. It looks like they went solely by stats (total yards, receptions, sacks, INTs, etc.) for most of their selections. :bang2:

I think these are great sections and reflect both success in the current season as well as overall talent level. Who isn't here who belongs?

Four voters left Ware off their ballots. He got 46 total votes -- 45 votes at OLB and one at defensive end. The only players with more votes were Ed Reed (50) and Albert Haynesworth (49).

Interestingly, 11 voters left James Harrison off their ballots (he got 38 votes at OLB and one vote at ILB).

Also, Leonard Davis and Jay Ratliff made third-team All-Pro, and Newman got one vote.

Personally, I think only players and coaches should be able to vote on such things. At least offical ones. Most media types are stupid anyhow. Harrison got a vote as an ILB? His voting rights should be taken away.

I'm not sure the players/coaches look at that stuff too much during the season anyway. I've noticed in the leagues that do in season player voting its mostly done on reputation anyway.

I don't think theres anything like a perfect system for these types of awards.

I supposed I am biased, but Gonzalez over Witten is an absolute joke in my eyes.

I'd like to know who voted for Brooks and whether this person actually watched him play this season.

Personally I would have voted for Witten, but I in no way see Gonzales winning being a joke. He had a huge year this year.

Give the voters a break. They only voted for a few players at the wrong positions this time. And it didn't even cost anyone a spot on the first team this year.

I think that the writers don't like the fact that Witten is a snitch

Actually Gonzales had a great year. It surprised me. Especially with the offense KC had.

A homer talking here, but kinda surprised Bradie received nary a vote at ILB. 8 sacks and 3 forced fumbles is pretty impressive.

A good tight end can produce good numbers even in a bad offense in today's NFL. That is why every team is trying to find good tight ends to take advantage of the mis-matches they create. Even when Dallas struggled on offense this season they were able to get Witten the ball. The tight end is still the safety valve for most QBs. It was in KC and in Dallas this season. Gonzales had a huge year with over a 1000 yards and 10 TDs. He was very deserving.

By the way, Ware's number of votes was the most for any outside linebacker since Derrick Brooks in 2002 (when he won DPOY).

Ware also led all outside linebackers last season in the voting. He has gone from one vote as a rookie to seven in his second season (second-team All-Pro) to 39 last year to 45 this year (plus one vote at DE).
