I'm not sure about dominating....The Freak is still a bit raw, but I too am a bit confused that he was in the running. Without Lawson, the 49ers wouldn't have had a chance to compete for a playoff spot.

Priceless. Carpenter nearly matched his production in 1/10th the playing time.

well who knows but the Texans certainly have better playmakers on offense than the Titans. i could only imagine how much better Vince would have been if he had someone like Andre Johnson with the Titans
I think the Titans have a better line and a better running back. Andre Johnson is good, but not so much so to make up for the O-line and RB difference.

Have you ever heard of this guy named Frank Gore?

Yes...he had a great season, but Lawson was most certainly a catlyst on defense. Even as a rookie he was drawing double teams, pretty impressive.

57 tackles
2.5 sacks
2 fumble recoveries
1 interceptions
0 Forced Fumbles

Wow. Amazing.

But he drew double teams... this guy must be dominant.

Lawson did basically what many people (other than those fawning over his "freakness") feared he would. He started quick because of his raw tools but faded because he was so inexperienced and lacked technique as a linebacker. He might be great one day, but he was pretty much a non-factor the second half of the season.

I watched only a handful of 49er games from start to finish and I could barely tell he was on the field.

He also thinks Romo should sit and let Bledsoe back.

Seriously... are you on something today star?

Numbers don't always tell the whole story......Believe me I have scouted this kid since his days at NC State when he was wreaking havoc every play and making Mario Williams look much better than he really is.

Lawson is a classic hybrid tweaker of the new millenium and is going to be something special in this league as his career progresses.

I'm not a pro scout.....just an 'amateur' but my draft board has been pretty consistent with some of the so called 'professionals' on ESPN, NFL.com, etc but last year I did have Lawson graded as a top 10 overall prospect.

I had DE Mark Anderson as a top 5 and Demeco Ryans in my top 2.

Mario didnt crack my top 64...

I had Ryans in the top 20.....definitely was a steal in the 2nd round.

I also had Marques Colston as one of my 'sleepers'....but I'd be lying if I said I had him graded better than a 2nd day pick....dude might be the steal of the century when it's all said and done.

You nailed it. That is not too bad considering he was a rookie making a transition to a new position. Weren't the 49ers forced to run the 4-3 because of injuries to the linebacker position? I think Lawson will be a good player for a long time. He is best suited for the 3-4 WOLB position and nickel pass rusher. The same one Ware plays, which is the reason he is not a Cowboy. Too bad he isn't suited to play the SOLB position because Dallas could use his pass rushing skills.

I think the Texans are going to be Pretty Good this next coming Season.. Crazy about the Texans..
