I'm not convinced Alabama is better than any of the other four.

The AP Poll has nothing to do with the outcome of the BCS results unless people are hoping that this is a sign of what human voters are leaning towards.

Oh I agree with you. I think Alabama is about to get a RUUUDE awakening come the championship game w/ Florida.

It may be a blowout.

Great but it doesn't effect who wins the Big12. AP has zero effect on who plays Missouri.

The fact that Florida is #2 shows what a joke the AP poll is. Texas' only loss was to a top 6 team and OU's loss was to a top 5 team. Florida loses to a non top 25 team and is above both of them. Pretty weak in my opinion.

This poll is irrelevant to the BCS so it is irrelevant to the Big-XII title game but, having said that, it isn't a good indicator for Texas. Like the Coaches' Poll of earlier today, Texas is ahead but only by the very slimmest of margins (so close it can almost be considered a virtual tie). It really looks like it's going to come down to the computers, and those bode well for OU.

It means nothing.

I also agree about Alabama but dont underestimate that team.

They are a tough team. They have the 2nd best Oline in the Nation, behind Oklahoma, and they are the best @ run Blocking.

They play are hard nosed style of football and are a very very very well coached team.

Great offensive line play, Great running game, and a Bus driver at Quarterback that has some guys out wide that can make plays.

I know Crabtree gets a lot of love but the best College Receiver, imo, is in Alabama.

They also play very good defense and they have a Dline that can control the Line of Scrimmage.

They are definetely a throw back kind of team.

They wont get a lot of style points, something that obviously exists in College football, but they will bring the fight.

I just don't think they can beat Florida because Florida is just so rediculously talented and very well coached also.

Urban Meyer brought a running attack and strong emphasis on Defense and Special teams to Florida.

With the type of talent they get they will be top notch for awhile.

I just love how OU drops to #4 after defeating a 12th ranked team at their stadium.

I agree and I see that as part of the idiocy of the system. People have short memories. A loss early in the season simply does not count as much as a loss late in the season

If Florida played the exact same games with the exact same results only we shifted the order of games such that their single loss was yesterday, then they wouldn't even be in the top-5 today. But since their loss was in September, they have climbed over better teams with more recent losses.

Its cuz everyone in the AP poll was listening to Mack on the radio all week and on ABC lastnight during they game cry over why....why...why.

They also probably got a few flyers from the A&M game and probably heard the pilot screaming from the plane as well.

It could happen. ;)

I really doubt most of the people who have votes in these polls actually watch the games. If they did their opinions would be swayed by pleas or media outlets.

You're absolutely right. Who is voting in the polls? Coaches and media members. The overwhelming majority of those people are at games on Saturdays. And when you are actually attending a game, you miss a helluva lot of other crap.

Does anyone here really think the head coach of (for example) South Florida has watched a single Big-XII game this season? Or Pac-10 game? Of course not - he has too much to worry about involving his own team. So why should he vote on things he really knows very little about?

Florida should not be ahead of OU and Texas on any poll

Ya, coaches voting is ridiculous, plenty of them have already admitted they dont have time to watch teams that arent on their schedule play. Not to mention their biases, like when Osbourn refused to vote CU the National Championships simply because they were a rival school and it would hurt his recruiting. Im sure that kind of stuff effects the way a lot of coaches vote.
