Apparently, our defense is predictable as well

“Usually they like to play a 3-technique but if he got a little wider, and looked like he was going to play the [left or right] tackle, he was going to slant out and we were going to get another movement from the other side too,” Blythe said. “If [the defensive tackle] is going to come in, the tell is going to come in from the other side.”

I asked Blythe how often the tells accurately predicted the Cowboys play call.

“Plus-90 percent” Blythe said.

Well that would certainly explain why the run defense looked historically awful and the DL was a non-factor.

It's similar to the Commanders spotting Ladouceur's adjusting the ball prior to FGs and using that tendency to get a cheap penalty in a big moment. The Cowboys are not savvy enough to properly scout themselves.

Sean McVay is really exposing the old school coaching style in the league. LOL at all of those who wanted Fisher here in Dallas. We already have him.

Just me, but what happened to D is more exception than the rule. It looks like they simply didn't see it coming. Notice Jaylon comments below.......pretty sure if they a 2nd game a week later, we'd see different results from the D.

The Rams ran on a season-high 48 attempts while Jared Goff threw just 28 passes. Of course, there was the McVay touch to all of the ground work, as the Rams repeatedly used the so-called “jet-action” – typically fake end-arounds or “ghost sweeps” that threw Dallas’ defense for a loop.

“The reality of it is they’re a team that (uses) a lot of shifts and motions, and they can get your eyes,” Cowboys linebacker Jaylon Smith told USA TODAY as he left the Coliseum. “You have to be locked in and queued into your key. That’s something that got the best of us tonight.”

Quit picking on me, you big bully.

Correct me if I'm wrong here...teams still focus upon players that they think their players dominate, right. Kind of still, old school, defeat the man over you Old School principals, right?

His only pro experience is coaching the TEs here and who the hell can't look awesome with that kind of talent?

At least a Fisher coached team almost won a SB. JG's teams have not advanced past the Divisional round

@Ranching tells me "this is common" and happens all the time. Yes, apparently all teams can tell what the opposing defense is about to do with 90% accuracy

Maybe he knows more than the Rams OL?
:lmao:
It is common but I don't think you know football like that. It's not a shot either just truth. How do you think Romo can give you what other teams are doing so often? That just comes along with knowing your craft but most fans just watch the games so I'm not surprised they think this is groundbreaking stuff.

I'm pretty sure for you, like me, close is not good enough. I'm not impressed with either resume, all due respect to Fisher's spirited effort vs the Rams.

Hate to say this but the defense have been predictable since we brought back the 4-3 defense. As much as Ryan's scheme was too difficult to comprehend, it at least created some chaos.

This defense was either Tampa 2 or Cover 1 with little or no blitzing.

Predictable offense and defense.

Nice of use to give plays away like that.
so we should be 0-16 3-13 so predictable the eagles, Seahawks and saints couldn't beat us when it mattered, there a fine line to truth vs hyperbole around here..

Ryan's defenses were god awful and so was he. Chaos meant nothing. It was all for show.

Predictable Jerry + Predictable Coaches = Predictable offense and defense = Fans able to predict we wont make the playoffs and if we do we wont reach the NFC championship game. Story of this franchise for over a decade. We as Cowboys fans should be banned from using the word Super Bowl.

They were awful but the personnel as a whole is nowhere as good as this one. In the first year, the secondary was awful and then in the second year he loses a bunch of players which forced him to play guys coming off the street. However, he had some ok games when he had full strength and if the offense wasn't turning the ball over or not scoring points. At least, he had blitzes coming from different positions.

This defense is sending the same 4 with sending a LB or a slot cb. That is it.
