Apparently we had an A+ draft

I’m here for the posts that claim to know more about football than the people who are getting paid to know about football. Smh. Lol

Grade
A-

Dallas Cowboys

Analysis:

  • The Cowboys bypassed the available offensive skill-position players and defensive talent at No. 12 to replace the retired Zack Martin with Booker. The former Alabama guard is a proven starter out of the SEC, but he did not impress in athletic testing this spring. Ezeiruaku projects as the next Demarcus Lawrence, while Revel could be a nice Day 2 find if he’s able to stay healthy (coming off an ACL tear).
  • I dropped Dallas' grade slightly because they traded their fourth-round pick to Carolina for Jonathan Mingo last year, a move that has not paid off so far. They proved they could find running backs late, however, picking the speedy Blue in Round 5 and the strong Mafah in Round 7. I understood why they decided to trade up for James. I expect him to earn a starting role in Dallas. Cornelius could play guard or tackle for the Cowboys, while Toia and Akingbesote will help stop the run.

Dallas Cowboys

GRADE: A-

I REALLY LIKED WHAT THE COWBOYS DID THIS WEEKEND in adding a handful of early contributors to their roster. Alabama guard Tyler Booker will help solidify their interior offensive line and should provide clean pockets for Dak Prescott and run lanes for the team’s backs. Boston College’s Donovan Ezeiruaku is a slippery, productive pass rusher who should pair excellently with Micah Parsons off the edge. East Carolina cornerback Shavon Revel has top-tier upside as a big, long outside corner with ball skills and instincts in coverage. And Texas running back Jaydon Blue adds top-tier speed to the team’s backfield, giving the Cowboys a home run hitter at the position. All in all, a solid haul.

I give us a B. Thought prioritizing RB was crucial. We didn't do that. We don't have our Tony or Emmitt. Don't even have a prime Zeke or Demarco. Blue is a situational back with fumbling problems. Talented, but not the workhorse we need. Other than that, I like the picks.

yeah, that is a fair assessment about RB group. Unless they do something by trade, I see us run by committee and we now have the guys for that. Will it be better than having that 1 guy? we will see. I do like finally having a gunner though

So stupid!! How the **** ! Does anyone give out grades before 2 - 3 seasons??? Stypir money making sites....laughable
Well, if they gave their draft grades after 2-3 seasons wouldn't that be just as useless? They could say, "See, I told you Tom Brady should have been the #1 overall pick. I predicted it!"

But are the Cowboys a playoff team now? Same front office, new head coach. The jury is out. I can concede the draft was good, but I believe it will take multiple good drafts to overcome the lousy decisions from the front office in 2024.

its paying for guy talk. in reality no one should take what they say as gold.

the sports shows are to validate that the combine is meaningful when reality shows the combine is no more helpful than a certain post man making the pics

The real grade won't be known until a couple of years when we look back and see how many of these picks are actually contributing.

Well, you're the expert.

Guess I'll break the news to PFF.
Some will never be happy no matter what we do. It's the Jerry effect and when you factor in the cherry on top which was the all in crap last year, a large chunk of our fans won't ever give a passing grade to anything we do. I get it, I really do. For me, I don't operate like that. I live in the now. We had a good weekend.

True. 3 years from now, we can grade the fruits of our picks. But for now, they get an A for the effort.
