Agreed. All things considered, last week & the way our schedule shakes out works out for us in the long run.
(1) Rush’s awful play vs Philly will prevent other teams potentially viewing him as QB1 & poaching him for us. To me, he should be a career backup for us & this seems more likely now.
(2) Dak returns v DET/CHI @ home. He needs to create positive momentum for himself & the offense against these two subpar teams at home.
(3) We have the week 9 bye for the team to reevaluate itself and head into the final stretch of the season.
A bad loss/poor performance from Dak in the DET or CHI game will hurt. If Dak comes back and we go back to back victories scoring 30+ with the pass game rounding into form, we will be in great shape.
Of course the question will again be how does Dak perform against the playoff teams. To be seen, but it is clear Rush isn’t the answer at QB1 but is an elite QB2.
I could not be happier, who else in the league has a back up that has performed as well. We still have close to 3/4 of the season left . Next time we face that team. It will be in our house and we will prevail. They are not the best team in the division in my opinion. They just have the best record. All cowboy fans. And I mean all cowboy fans should be happy right now. Go cowboys
