Ok well. Dez is gone. A lot of people here seemed to think WR would be a RD1 priority. I was one of them. I am not thinking that way now. This is how I see the draft and the week leading up to the draft happening.

First.

Earl Thomas is coming here. I think its just a formality at this point.

We give up our 4th this year plus Bease. We save on cap and Seattle gets a perfect WR for their QB and system.

After this trade this is the draft I see happening. Or would like to happen at the very least.

19: R1P19
LB RASHAAN EVANS
ALABAMA
A sideline to sideline LB who is an absolute beast. Would slide right in and be a day 1 starter on this team.

50: R2P18
DL TIM SETTLE
VIRGINIA TECH
Plugs up the middle and is one of the most athletic DTs in this draft.

81: R3P17
WR MICHAEL GALLUP
COLORADO STATE
Dak friendly defined. This guy catches everything thrown his way, is a solid route runner, and is dangerous after the catch.

137: R4P37
G MAEA TEUHEMA
SE LOUISIANA
Line depth

171: R5P34
OT BRANDON PARKER
NORTH CAROLINA A&T
A possible starter but needs some work, so could be a good depth signing for this team

192: R6P18
LB NICK DELUCA
NORTH DAKOTA STATE
A tackling machine who just has a nose for the ball runner and lays the wood

193: R6P19
WR DAURICE FOUNTAIN
NORTHERN IOWA
Blew up his pro day and could spend a year on the practice squad and come out next season after we hopefully part ways with Twill

208: R6P34
CB BRANDON FACYSON
VIRGINIA TECH
A long lanky CB for our DC in waiting to groom

236: R7P18
RB PHILLIP LINDSAY
COLORADO
Perfect compliment for zeke. A punishing runner who can continue to lay the wood on defenders when spelling Zeke.

As always let me know what you think.

Not sure why Gallup does not get more love around here. Although to be fair I don't know think we have had any contact with him.

Yeah which is unfortunate. I think the kid is going to be a star. Love his game.

A post Dez mock should look no different than a pre Dez mock. The organization knew months ago (as did many of us) that there would be no 88 this year. . . . .02 FWIW

Yes. But I didn't. LOL

Hawks wont give up Thomas for Beasley and a 4th lmao.

More like Beasley + 2nd Round Pick.

After he skipped workouts? No. They are going to try and get anything they can come day 2 of the draft.

I like the Settle, Gallup, Parker, and Lindsay picks.

This looks pretty good to me. I doubt it’s what happens because Jerry can’t resist those sexy 1st round WRs, lol.

Well after looking it up it looks like they did meet him sometime prior to the combine.

If all of this were to happen, I believe I would A Okay with it. It addresses many of our weaknesses and needs. IMO, would make it a solid FA and solid draft for us. Afraid It may not happen thou, just makes too much sense...

Yeah its not flashy, which means it wont happen, but its everything we need, and makes us a better team overall.
That’s the thing about this FO...they don’t seem to draft strategically. They seem to draft like a fantasy football GM. Get a bunch of talented individuals instead drafting and building a talented TEAM. Your draft makes sense for a team approach but it probably isn’t sexy enough for Jerry.
