Round 1: Kevin Johnson, CB Wake Forest.

Instantly improves our CB group and gives us our future #1 CB.

Round 2: TJ Yeldon, HB Alabama.

No word on a visit yet, but I expect to see some interest in him considering his fit and Garretts Sabin ties. Slotted by most to go late 2nd/early 3rd.

Round 3: Danielle Hunter, DE LSU.

First round physical talent but 7th round pass rushing stats. Is considered a high motor and coachable player and did have good tackle and TFL production. Impact STer as well. Could go in the 2nd or earlier in the 3rd, but I think his lack of refinement and production will scare teams off.

Round 4 : Paul Dawson, LB

Once considered a late first to early second round prospect, character questions and a very poor combine have dropped his stock. 4th round seems to be where alot of these types go. Should compete for the same position and can back up all 3 LB spots.

Round 5: Derrick Lott, DT Tennessee Chattanooga.

Could push for playing time as a One Technique, could even be a rookie starter. Could go higher then this, but I believe age, small school background and the fact he didnt push for playing time at Georgia will push him down the draft.

Round 7: Laurence Gibson, OT Virginia Tech

Athletic zone blocking OT gives Dallas a candidate for Free's eventual replacement.

Round 7: Hutson Mason, QB Georgia

Very smart savvy QB who doesnt have a strong arm. Accurate and knows how mange an offense. Game manager who will never be a starter, but I believe he is a high end back up capable giving solid performances in a pinch

In general I like this draft. Not sure about Yeldon there. Also I think Hunter goes round 2 based on potential.

Have we drafted anybody from Alabama since Garrett was the HC?. Saban works them into the ground over there,I am hesitant about all Alabama players.

I'd love this draft. Whoever said 5 RBs over Yeldon hasnt watched him very closely. He fits our offense better than any RB not named Gurley.

well i think you are wrong. If you want a perfect fit then you have to look at Gordon .Wisconsin has a similar Oline to us they too run a predominantly ZBS scheme with power runs sprinkled in.I dont trust these Alabama RBs at all.their oline just gets massive push and every RB they trot us looks great.

funny, i dont want gordon. i dont think he's a great fit. i think he's a great athlete and a game breaker (in college), but not an inside runner who will get tough yards. just not physical. those lanes that he burst through untouched in college will not be there in the nfl, even with our OL. and as much as you dont trust alabama rbs (lacy? ingram?), i dont trust wisconsin rbs (montee ball, james white, ron dayne). and finally, the cost of gordon will be our first round pick. yeldon can be had in the 2nd or even 3rd.

i guess the cowboys disagree as they have invited Gordon and not Yeldon, personally i dont want to spend a 1st rd pick on a RB.our best bet is to trade out of the first and try if we can snag a RB we want in the 2nd.

Love it! Would be beyond happy with this Draft and the Off-Season acquisitions we have made. A+

cowboys are bringing in all the RBs rated in top 2 rounds (gurley, gordon, ajayi, abdullah, coleman), so not sure what they means about gordon or yeldon. and also, remember that garrett has a straight line to saban, so they may not think they need to bring in yeldon for an official visit. i believe the value of yeldon in the 3rd is better than any of these other backs in the 1st or early 2nd (in a trade down). it allows us to draft two potential defensive starters. but we'll see what direction they go in...

They still have alot of visits to schedule. I dont even think they are at half yet

I watched several Yeldon videos on YouTube. I didnt see anything from him that would separate himself from any of the other RBs not named Gurley.
Yeldon wouldn't even be on my draft board.

Not bad, imo.

I'm a Kevin Johnson fan....though 1st round CBs scare me a bit.

I can see Yeldon in our offense.
I've looked at a lot though, and there just doesn't seem to be much special about him. Rd 2 seems too early for the player.
You could get mike Davis 2-3 rounds later with the same results, quite possibly.

Hunter scares me a bit too. He does have upside. And the 3rd round would reduce the cost.

Can't argue with Dawson that late. I think he's gone before the late 4th regardless of his Combine.

No thanks on the QB.

Like getting a Cb high in the draft.
