    December 21.

Still do not understand why Warner Bros is releasing the movie the same day as James Cameron’s Alita: Battle Angel and the latest Transformers offering (Bumblebee). Smh.

    Looks good though...

An excuse for it to fail?

I've never been an Aquaman fan, but this is more like Poseidon than Aquaman. Just the stuff I see here looks really bad, like pushing that ship up to the surface....Was he even kicking his feet???

I am getting the same vibe as with Superman/Kal-El post Superman Returns reintroduction that some of the film’s potential audience do not know the character has evolved (a WHOLE lot) from the sappy Superfriends days four decades ago. Of course, it does not help that Warner Bros/DC keeps referencing the older characterization as parodies in their other media properties from time-to-time either. DC could learn a great deal of visual continuity from Marvel if they would simply stop bouncing back-and-forth for the sake of a meaningless laugh.

Momoa would have probably been a very good Lobo. It is a good example why it always seems (to me at least) like Warner Bros and DC throw a lot of things out there to see if any of it sticks to a wall.

You don't know half the story. Zach... Zach, Zach, Zach, Zach, Zach.
He really messed things up. And ruined relationships along the way.

I am not as critical of Snyder but totally understand why he attracts the animosity that he does. Really wished Warner Bros would have signed Christopher Nolan to direct some of the films for the DCEU.

During the same time popular culture adopted Aquaman (and other Justice Leaguers) as a perpetually smiling oaf who needed a jet ski to sometimes get around on the Super Friends cartoon, the hero was presented in comic book stories reflecting harsher topics like the death of his son:

Just one of many examples why general audiences see characters like Aquaman in one way but they were actually depicted differently in comics.

In truth, Aquaman is not the worst victim of incorrect perception. That distinction goes to Batman and his world. Batman, The Joker, etc., were so twisted during the 1960's by his television comedy series that it is surprising he and his fictional domain made significant headway with mainstream audiences when Tim Burton's Batman debuted.

That film and its sequels, while popular in their own right, continued with a slightly subdued version of the 60's crap. Thankfully, Christopher Nolan did an outstanding job exorcising some of the old nonsense from general audiences' flawed conception of the character.

Aquaman has that same uphill battle as well. Even though Justice League was a stumbling beginning, it helped show Aquaman as more than a cartoon character re-imagined to dumb down kids with hokeyness. Hopefully this film will build greatly on that first step taken in that regard.

DC really fails a lot versus the Marvel Universe.

I think he is a pretty cool choice for Aquaman... But, that CGI in some places in the trailer, looks terrible. But it doesn't get released until December, so maybe they aren't done with that yet. You would think they would be though, in a trailer used to drum up anticipation.

I have had a REALLY good vibe about the movie since the very first teaser. And it is James Cameron!
