Architect’s 1960 drawing of a proposed 70,000-seat domed stadium in Arlington, Texas. The hope was to entice a MLB team to Dallas area and venue would also be home to Cowboys of NFL and maybe the AFL Texans (today's Chiefs). But the $9.5 million project never did materialize.

That looks small. No way that would house 70,000 fans. Kind of a spaceship-looking design. Is it just irony that the Cowboys now do have the Deathstar in Arlington?

I'll take a run down outdated Cotton Bowl over that overglorified art museum that Jerry built.
You can most certainly have it. The stadium that Jerry built is an absolute football palace. Someday after Jerry is long gone, I'm certain it will be renamed AT&T's Jerry Jones Memorial Stadium.

I like my football stadiums to be like actual football stadiums.

never heard of this, and for 9.5 mil sounds super cheap today lol.
it would have to be air conditioned, and back then schools and most homes here in texas did not have AC ! Not in 1960.
Thing is back then nfl teams did not make much money, and they could not afford to build this, and Arlington couldnt , as back then it was really small town.

I'm fine with what the stadium turned out to be but if I could go back and change anything I'd go with Steers over Cowboys.

Steers!

@Hardline Nice find! Thanks for posting.

I actually like that design. I think it is cool looking. I think it would have been even better with a hole in the roof.

A Pink Floyd concert and light show in that stadium would have rocked.
