I have to confess that I'm not a true football fan. I mean, I love football, but only if the Cowboys are playing. For as long as I can remember, all of my sports fandom has been laser-focused on the Cowboys. I have only a casual interest in anything else. For example, I really don't care at all about the Superbowl today, except for a mild curiosity as to who wins. I may tape it just to watch the commercials, but I won't really watch the game. However if the Cowboys are in it, it becomes the center of my universe! It's an all-day celebration, with me absorbing every moment of coverage. I just wondered if any of the rest of you are like me, or am I just the only freak on here.

I get where you're coming from, but I like the game itself. There's other teams that I don't dislike so I'll cheer for them in certain situations, like in the Super Bowl, but then again, I'm not big on either team in the Super Bowl this year. Jumped on the Saints bandwagon though haha, I'll be off of it the second that game is over though. But generally I can look at the two teams playing football at any level and decide which one I want to cheer for. I mean, the Super Bowl would be A LOT bigger of a deal for me today if the Cowboys were in it. It'd be a whole different event in my eyes.

I used to be like that about ten years ago, but gradually i've become a big fan and can sit down and enjoy a game the Cowboys aren't playing in. I still can't cheer or get the same emotions without the Cowboys, though.

Nope, I feel the same way. I have not watched or read anything after Dallas lost. I will watch a little baseball, I am a Dodgers fan, when that starts to kill time until training camp start. Even if the Dodgers make it into the post season, my focus is always on Dallas. I may watch the game today, I may not.

Yeah, now I can sometimes get a little involved if one of the teams is a team I really don't like, such as when the Iggles were in the big game I was definitely rooting against them. Same with Pittsburg and New England, just because their records threaten Dallas in some way. Otherwise I'm completely indifferent, like this year. I just deck out in Cowboys gear to sort of protest their audacity in even having the thing without the 'Boys in it. :D

I love a good football game, no matter who plays it.

I would watch peewee football if it was a decent game.

I used to watch NFL europe and would end up cheering for one of the teams by the end.

I am getting into this one because of all the crap I have been taking from

Saints fans. I don't know why they link the Cowboys and the Saints together. I

believe it's just pure jealousy. I just tell them that WE BEAT the Saints this

year in THEIR house.

I hope the Saints get blown out. Saints fans are the least knowledgeable fans

in the league. They are very quick to jump on the bandwagon and quicker to

jump off of it.

Even without the cowboys in it i can still appreciate the game, And i am looking forward to it. Like most of you I could do without all the hype but i really think having the pro bowl last week made the 2 weeks quicker. But to say you are going to tape the game just to watch the ads? come on guy ..lol

At the end of the day i don't care one bit who wins as long as my numbers come out once or twice..

I can't stand the hype, before SB week and after. It's the same old stuff.(as long as the boys aren't there)

Once the Boys are done ,so am I in watching ESPN and other NFL BS.
until the draft.
I will watch College Basketball, but that's about it

I start getting into the Golf Mode, I watch it and go to the Simulator once or twice a week.

Pretty much how I feel. I mean, the only way I will even be interested in the game tonight, is if the Saints actually have a chance because I am so sick of the Manning family. :ralph: :puke:

Go Saints. somebody let me know if it's actually agame and I might turn it on.:pink:

same with Cowboys fans. I'm talking about the common day people, not us that are on this board.

You're not alone as far as the NFL is concerned. It's all Cowboys for me. But I do get excited over my high school alma mater football games. As far as other sports, in baseball I follow Rafael Furcal of the Dodgers, Jimmy Rollins of the Phillies and I like Yankees manager Joe Girardi. I used to be into the NBA a long time ago, but I just don't feel it anymore. In other words, this time of year sucks when the Cowboys are not playing.

I'm a fan of football as a whole - I can sit down and watch any football game, even a Week 2 college game featuring the Idaho Vandals.

But...when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys, life is serious. I don't really cheer, I don't talk trash to Eagles/Commanders/Giants fans, I don't get mad. I sit, and I watch. Intently. I can't explain it, but it's like I'm studying every aspect of the game as it unfolds. Only when we win and win big to I cheer loud or get boisterous. Otherwise, I wait for the day that we win one in February to get emotional.
