It is irrelevant where a player was drafted because draft evaluation is an inexact science. My last post was taking your argument to a logical absurdity to point out the fallacy it is.

I agree with you that Tapper hasn't played a down yet but you are avoiding my point which is you can't discount Tapper because he was drafted in the 4th round.

If you want to continue to dwell on the draft pedigree when player like Brady, Romo and thousands of others have shown how far off evaluations often are, go ahead. But I prefer to live in reality.

So now you are telling me that a 6th round pick is just as likely or more likely to turn out better than a first or second rounder? LOL

Whatever. Go shovel that nonsense to someone that will waste their time.

Statistically speaking you are correct that the higher a player is drafted can be an indicator of future success, but once he is drafted draft position is irrelevant. You just find out if your player evaluation was correct or not.

Dak wasn't drafted until the 4th round so expectations were set lower than they should have been for him. Instead of stubbornly believing he couldn't amount to much because of his draft stays the team went by what they say on the field, which is all that really matters.

Who is stuck on the fact that Dak is likely to fail because he was a 4th round pick? No one with any sense at all is making that argument now, because draft position doesn't matter, the ability to play is what matters now.

Wow, you are really out there. But thanks for acknowledging my point on draft position. Dak is succeeding because is already proving it on the field. Unlike Tapper or Smith.

And when you have two guys that havent played a down in the NFL all you have to go on his what you know. Draft position, health, play in college. Or maybe you can just make something up in your head.

I'll give my opinion and leave, it does not matter where you are drafted, people screw up, even scouts. ask Tony, Leon, Chad, Darren, Larry, Nate, Dak, etc.

"Fixing". What does that mean? Cure everything, or good enough to compete?

No NFL team is ever going to have every deficiency "fixed". I'll go ahead and say if that's something you really expect, blow your brains out right now because you'll never be happy.

Good enough to be a contender? Sure. Good enough to win a Super Bowl? Unlikely, but crazier things have happened. Even with a great team, injuries can derail your season instantly.

Just chill and watch the young guys compete. There's a lot of young talent, and we're about to have more. Hope they draft a pass rusher with some talent and a couple DB's that can force turnovers. I'm just thankful after the last few years, even if our young CB's aren't as seasoned as Carr/Mo, at least they'll probably produce some damn turnovers.

Become upper echelon in one offseason = not happening.
Becoming better in one offseason = possible
