Are Cowboys gearing up for FA shopping ??

They aren’t going to win any bidding wars so the best we can hope for is some solid upgrades at multiple positions. Shouldn’t be terribly hard to do even with average players.

I think they will sign several players with history tied to the coaches

- RG WILL HERNANDEZ
- DE/DT DEMARCUS WALKER
- LB JACK SANBORN
- DT LEKI FOTU
- WR KEENAN ALLEN
this is a list that I was hoping to see a list of guys that have ties to the coaches, thanks Carson for this,. now let me go look these guys up

It seems to me like maybe they are !
Signing their own before FA, then the restructures to free up $$.
I know Fish thinks they are.

I dont know what type of shopping they are planning but it has to be more than last year lol, and more
than their previous usual of bargain bin players, and think waiting till after the draft is over.

All signs, seem to point towards them maybe getting at least 1 big $ guy, and some higher quality guys to fill holes
they think they cant get in the draft.

I do hope they draft a RB as opposed to getting one of the FA RB's available now.

Most of the combine interviews were DEF players, so I think mainly they may use FA for offense?
Maybe a WR?
Cleveland has said now they are keeping Myles.
But I think Crosby from raiders is possibly available.

Are there any good FA you guys think they should go for?
Dandy, there’s a difference between shopping and buying. I will believe they are buyers when the transactions actually happen.

Shopping is what they normally do. Buying something more than the usual 75% off regular price moves is what I’m hoping for.

As far as what good FAs I would like to see them buy….an impactful DL, perhaps a starting LB, an immediate impact WR…don’t have to have all three but maybe two…

Bottom line for me, just don’t rely solely on the draft to fill the multiple holes this roster has to fill.

post of the morning!!!!! Shopping to me also means WHAT can we offer to a team that's looking to unleash a player, can we sell them into taking one of those 5th round picks that we have so many of

Because they resturctured Lambs contract to get under the cap and have enough money to sign their future draft picks?

I need more signs to get the hope they actually change their approach to build a losing franchise.

That's a lie because there's an entire list of guys who have contracts which have expired, I don't see why you don't get this especially if they're UNRESTRICTED
You are calling me a liar now???

Be careful Coog. Be very careful.

OK smarty pants I'll explain it for you. Many names on that list will re-sign with their own teams. MANY. Therefore, we won't know who is truly available until FA starts. This isn't a new concept. It's the same every year.

"We won't know who is available until FA begins"

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/_/year/2025 (Unrestricted) I was nice enough to say UNRESTRICTED, restricted I could agree

Hey Coog what is an unrestricted free agent (first off coog stop shouting!!!) Sorry BD

Nope. They're getting ready to make Parsons the highest paid (I don't belive his contract discount comments), instead of being smart and trading him for picks.
It doesn't matter if he comes at a discount...his cap number will drop by 18.2m just by signing an extension. Signing him long term will add money to this year's cap space.

They are signing their own before free agency because they have to. If they extend Parsons before free agency starts, then it could be looked at as doing something different, but players like Odighizuwa either had to be signed, tagged or become free agents. This is simply doing business. They also had to restructure Lamb's contract to make room for those signings.

Yeah, because they're definitely going to use that money on free agents.
